Busan Haeundae Galbi Hotspot
Original Andong Galbi Haeundae: Premium Korean Beef Ribs

**Wonjo Andong Galbi**, selected for the **2026 Blue Ribbon**!
This place is already famous among the older generation as
**Busan's go-to spot for beef short ribs (sogalbi)**, with word-of-mouth spreading far and wide.
With some support from the establishment, we decided to give it a try
and arrived in the early evening.

As expected for such a popular spot, even on a weekday evening,
tables quickly filled up with customers!
Just as it said by the entrance, this fantastic restaurant began in **Daegu's Bongdeok-dong Andong Galbi Alley**
and has been carrying on a whopping **53-year tradition**, passed down through
**three generations from grandmother to grandchild**.

Nuri Parking Lot next to Bumin Hospital (1 hour complimentary)

Whenever I have dinner plans in Haeundae, the first thing I check is always
the parking situation.
But here, with a dedicated parking lot right in front of the restaurant,
there's absolutely no need to worry about parking!
Inside Vibe
Doesn't it just feel amazing to step into a restaurant on a hot summer day
and be greeted by a blast of cool air?

The air conditioning was so powerful, it almost felt chilly!
Since they grill meat right there over charcoal,
it's easy to get hot and annoyed while eating, but
that wasn't the case here at all.

You could really see the effort they put into everything,
from internal ventilation to overall cleanliness.
With separate private rooms available for everything from small gatherings
to large groups, it’s truly a perfect spot for office dinners or a get-together with friends.
Premium Korean Hanwoo Beef: Grade 1+ or Higher
They mentioned it was **premium Korean Hanwoo beef, Grade 1+ or higher**, and honestly,
from the moment the meat arrived, I was just like, "Wow!!
That marbling is absolutely incredible!"

And the moment I grilled a piece and took a bite, I knew it instantly.
I asked the owner for a menu recommendation, and when I told them
we'd be eating it with a meal...
We were recommended 1 serving of the signature Andong Galbi and
2 servings of the fresh short ribs, which were beautifully scored.

We also ordered Korean beef doenjang jjigae, a bowl of rice, and even some soju to enjoy with our delicious meat.
The complimentary banchan (side dishes) were wonderfully faithful to the essentials.

Wow!! This perilla seed sigeumchi-guk (spinach soup) is incredibly savory and nutty. You could easily finish a whole bowl just by mixing rice into it!

Since we're in Busan, it has to be Busan soju – cheers!!

First, we put the fresh short ribs on the grill to cook, and wow! The glistening sheen was absolutely incredible.

The unique meaty aroma of the fresh short ribs filled the air, and it was truly delicious when paired with this restaurant's specialty onion sauce.

Honestly, I don't usually enjoy onion sauce much anywhere I go, but perhaps because this is a Haeundae galbi hotspot, it was a truly perfect onion sauce that complemented the beef ribs so well.
Unlike the umami flavor you get when dipping it in salt, the deep, rich flavor of the onion sauce was a true delicacy!!

Next, we immediately put the signature Andong Galbi on the grill.
They told us to grill the inside of the ribs first,
then flip them over and pile them high with garlic.

It was a bit sad to see the garlic falling through the grill grates,
but what can you do, haha!
After tasting it with the garlic on top of the grilled meat,
I totally understood why it's the signature dish.

The seasoning made a bit of smoke,
but we diligently grilled it to perfection, making sure it didn't burn.
And then there's the Hanwoo Doenjang-jjigae (Beef Soybean Paste Stew)!!
The broth alone is truly worth a whole bottle of soju.

They served it in a traditional aluminum pot, and after finishing our meat,
we put it right back on the fire to simmer it down.
It's truly a 'rice thief'!
If we hadn't been so full, I would have loved to add two more bowls of rice and enjoy it as Doenjang-sulbap (soybean paste stew with rice). Highly recommended!

As evening approached, tables started filling up one by one,
and we even saw quite a few foreign customers.
It seems the rumors are true — it's indeed a famous Haewundae beef ribs restaurant.
For anyone wondering 'What should I eat?' on their Busan Haewundae trip,
or those looking for a great Haewundae beef ribs spot,
I highly recommend it!!
