1. Recommended Things to Do in Busan

So many people are heading to Busan for their summer getaway this year!
Since it's a city where you can enjoy both relaxation and sightseeing,
it has always been a beloved summer destination!
Today, I want to recommend an amazing activity for those visiting Busan
to help you fully soak up the summer vibes.
And that is none other than
Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) at Gwangalli Beach!
Below, I'll share my firsthand experience of paddleboarding
along with some tips on how to get a discount when booking!
2. Booking Gwangalli Beach Paddleboard (SUP)

SUP stands for Stand Up Paddleboard,
a water activity where you sit or stand on a board
and use a paddle to glide across the water!
A friend first suggested we do this at Gwangalli in the summer,
and I had so much fun that I actually came back
and did it again with my parents later on!
If you love the water,
want to beat the summer heat,
or want to see the Gwangan Bridge from a whole new angle,
this is an absolute must-try summer activity!
Before diving into my review, let me break down
the types of sessions and pricing you're probably curious about.
The shop I booked with is Crazy Surfers,
located just a 5-minute walk from the Gwangalli sandy beach.
They have great reviews, and the location is super convenient.

gear rental, shower facilities, locker storage, and a life jacket.
(There is only an additional fee of ~$6 if you wish to rent a wetsuit.)

I think the price is incredibly reasonable!

And now, let me share my honest review
of the Gwangalli Paddleboard experience that I've been to twice!
3. Crazy Surfers Paddleboarding Experience Review

I booked the Sunset SUP session both times.
Once you arrive at Crazy Surfers on time,
they'll give you a color-changing wristband that reacts to your body temperature.
Make sure to wear it for safety!
Since I wore my swimwear beforehand, I just stored my belongings
and spent some time playing with the resident dog while waiting.
I started getting super excited right from that moment!
Just as a tip, we only brought a change of clothes, a towel,
and some basic skincare products.
✅ The changing rooms and shower rooms are already equipped with essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash,
and hair dryers!

The day I visited was absolutely clear,
and I was so excited because I knew the sunset was going to be breathtaking!
Once you arrive at the beach, the instructor gives
a thorough 30-minute basic lesson.
As long as you pay attention to their tips,
you won't have any trouble at all out on the water!

I was filled with excitement when I first set out on the paddleboard.
Since I booked the sunset SUP session, it was late afternoon and the sun wasn't too harsh—
absolutely perfect weather for paddleboarding.
If it's your first time, you can start by paddling while sitting down,
and then stand up once you get the hang of it.
When the weather is nice, the sea is super calm,
so it won’t be scary at all, even for complete beginners!

While we were paddling hard toward Gwangan Bridge,
the instructor kept snapping photos of us.
✅ You will receive all the photos via KakaoTalk after the session
Even though there were quite a few people in our group, they took so many
individual photos of me, which I absolutely loved.
The photos turned out so beautiful, blending perfectly with the stunning background!

The sunset over Gwangalli Beach was truly breathtaking.
Watching the sun go down from the middle of the ocean rather than the shore
felt incredibly moving and magical.
If you can, I highly recommend booking the sunset SUP session!

Since this was my second time paddleboarding,
I felt much more stable and had plenty of time
to just soak in the scenery.
Seeing the Gwangan Bridge up close—a landmark I see so often—
made me realize all over again how beautiful it really is.
I knew I would never have experienced this view if I hadn't gotten on a paddleboard,
which made me so glad I decided to do it.
4. A Must-Do for Your Summer Trip to Busan!

The 2-hour sunset SUP session might sound short,
but physically, it was the perfect amount of time.
💡 Plus, I was so satisfied because I got to experience three completely different vibes:
daytime, sunset, and the night view!
