Green World Zhonghua Ximending Review 2026: Budget Taipei Stay

This month, September 2026, we embarked on a fantastic 3-night, 4-day adventure to Taipei, Taiwan!

For our accommodation, we chose the Green World Zhonghua Hotel, conveniently located near Ximen Station. Here's my honest review of our stay.

To secure the best rates, I actually split my booking: one night through Agoda (room type unassigned at booking) and the other two nights via Booking.com (Superior Twin Room with a city view).

Our flight landed in Taipei in the wee hours of Friday morning, after a late 10 PM departure on Thursday night. Since we were traveling with kids, I pre-booked an airport pickup taxi to make our arrival as smooth as possible.

A little tip for arrivals: Green World Zhonghua shares a building with Just Sleep Ximending. To avoid any confusion with the taxi driver (as Green World has several branches), I simply designated 'Just Sleep' as our drop-off point.

The Green World Zhonghua front desk is located on the 13th floor. It operates 24 hours, which was perfect for our late arrival. There were self-check-in kiosks available, but also two helpful staff members on duty.

As mentioned, my Agoda booking was for an unassigned room type, which usually comes at a slightly lower price. I had my fingers crossed that if they had availability, they'd assign us the same room as our Booking.com reservation for consistency.

I even sent a quick email to Green World Zhonghua's address to confirm my reservations and gently hint at the possibility of staying in the same room for all three nights. It never hurts to ask!

Upon checking in during the early Friday morning, we were so tired that I completely forgot to snap any photos!

I asked the front desk, "I have two separate bookings, is there any chance I could stay in the same room for all three nights?"

"Okay, please wait a moment," they replied.

Though I had originally booked a Superior Twin Room for two nights, they kindly assigned us a Superior Double Room on the 12th floor for all three nights! The room offered a fantastic view of the Ximending area, which was a pleasant surprise.

The room condition was decent – about average. My main criterion is usually a lack of bugs, and thankfully, we didn't encounter any, which made me happy!

In terms of amenities, the room included two complimentary bottles of water, an electric kettle, a fan, hand wash, shampoo, body wash, and a hairdryer.

A huge plus for international travelers: the outlets were multi-standard, so there was no need for a travel adapter! The front desk can be reached by dialing '9' from your room phone.

While the room was generally clean, you might notice a little dust or a bit of mold in some corners if you look closely. For a budget-friendly option, I was willing to overlook these minor imperfections.

Housekeeping typically tidied up between 10 AM and 11 AM daily, refreshing the bedding, emptying trash cans, and replenishing bottled water and towels.

One thing to remember: be sure to pack your own toothpaste and toothbrush!

We didn't opt for the hotel breakfast, choosing instead to explore the local eateries each morning. The area around the hotel is bustling with dining options, and if we needed something quick, the 7-Eleven on the first floor was incredibly convenient.

Ultimately, the standout feature of this hotel is its incredible location, right in front of Ximen Station. It truly makes exploring Taipei a breeze!
