Here is my honest review of our amazing 5-night, 6-day stay! 🏨

When people think of a Mexican vacation, Cancun is usually the first place that comes to mind.

But Los Cabos is a world-class, luxurious, and sophisticated destination—often called the "Hawaii of Mexico."

Of course, if you're purely looking for endless water sports, Cancun might have a slight edge.

However, the breathtaking and unique contrast of the desert meeting the ocean makes Los Cabos incredibly captivating 🏜️

For our stay with my Mexican friends and their family, we chose one of the premier luxury resorts in the area: Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos!

It takes about 30 minutes from the airport if traffic is light, and the resort grounds are unbelievably massive.

First things first: we kicked things off with our welcome drinks—champagne and a refreshing piña colada!

Since we arrived much earlier than expected, we decided to explore around the gorgeous lobby before checking in.

Even the walkways connecting the lobby to the other buildings treat you to endless, breathtaking ocean views.

And this is the incredible view of Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos from the terrace just opposite the lobby!

Even though the official check-in time had passed, they asked us to wait just a little longer.

But since they kept the complimentary welcome drinks flowing, we were happy to just sit back, relax, and soak in the ocean views.

With views like this, waiting didn't feel like a chore at all!

After about another 30 minutes, we were fully checked in!

Because the resort is so massive, some of the villas are quite far, so they take you to your room in a golf cart.

By the way, they handle all your heavy luggage for you, so tipping is a must!

Since we were a family of four, we tipped them 50 pesos (about $3).

A residence-style haven

Our home away from home was the Villa Master Suite

I'm not sure if it was a little gesture to make up for the delayed check-in, but we found a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us on the table!

Time to inspect the living area and kitchen!

First up, my absolute favorite feature: the bar table! It made catching up on some quick laptop work during downtime incredibly easy and comfortable.

Just a heads-up, the door right next to it is a connecting room door.

It also comes fully equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker, stove with cookware, and even a dishwasher to save you from doing any chores on vacation!

By the way, you can request as much beer and light cookies as you want for free, so a pro-tip is to stock up from day one!

You can grab ice from the ice machine located just outside.

And of course, the absolute highlight of the living room is the ocean view.

With not a single cloud in the sky, it was a truly romantic harmony of blue skies and ocean waves.

Right next to it is a cozy sofa bed.

Just so you know, while you're unpacking, a staff member will come by to set it up as a bed for you.

Another reason this Los Cabos hotel is so amazing is that there's a Starbucks right on-site, meaning you can easily order your favorite brew straight to your room.

Now, let’s head into the master bedroom with the king bed!

The bedroom also comes with its own bed and TV, and plush bathrobes are ready for you right next to the door.

A fantastic ocean-view terrace is connected directly to this room as well.

Honestly, those towering cacti right outside are the perfect touch.

Just a heads-up, the waves in Los Cabos are seriously powerful!

Close your eyes on the terrace and listen to the crashing waves—it’s pure, unadulterated peace.

Next to the king bed, you'll find the jacuzzi and vanity area.

The amenities include everything you need, from toothbrushes onwards, and you can always request more if you run out.

Fun fact: all the bath amenities here are from L'Occitane!

And the bathroom right next to it features a toilet and shower.

And if you go through the door next to that, there's yet another bathroom!

Thanks to this layout, our family of four never had to fight over bathroom time!

But the absolute highlight of Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos has to be the gorgeous ocean view!
