When you're planning a trip to Goseong in Gangwon-do, South Korea, the first things that probably come to mind are fresh raw fish and succulent snow crab. But here's the dilemma: you want to try the raw fish, maybe some refreshing *mulhoe* (spicy cold raw fish soup), and definitely don't want to miss out on the snow crab. It can be tough to pick just one! Luckily, we found a place that solves this problem beautifully: Haemaeji Hoejip, located right in front of Geojeon Port's breakwater. This spot is popular with both tourists and locals, so my expectations were high. And let me tell you, it exceeded them! I immediately thought, "I have to bring my family back here next time we visit Goseong!"

Haemaeji Hoejip is super easy to find, situated directly in front of the Geojeon Port breakwater. Its prime location also makes it perfect for exploring Geojeon Port or Geojeon Beach before or after your meal, making it an ideal stop on any Goseong itinerary.

We ordered the grilled fish, and it was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside – our kids absolutely loved it!

Finding a restaurant that caters to both adults and children on a family vacation can be a challenge, but with its diverse menu, Haemaeji Hoejip truly has something for everyone.

My personal favorite aspect of Haemaeji Hoejip was their "Haemaeji Special Set."

At first glance, the price of ~$96 for two people might seem a bit steep. But once the dishes started arriving, my perspective completely changed.

It began with a variety of delicious side dishes and fresh raw fish. Then came the snow crab, grilled fish, refreshing *mulhoe*, savory crab fried rice, and finally, a hearty, spicy fish stew (*maeuntang*). It just kept coming, making me wonder, "Is all this really included? Did I accidentally order extra?" I was truly amazed by the continuous flow of incredible food.

The snow crab was incredibly plump and tender, with a sweet, succulent flavor. The raw fish was delightfully chewy and firm, making me think, "Ah, this is truly Gangwon-do!"

When you travel to Gangwon-do, it's natural to want to indulge in raw fish, snow crab, and *mulhoe*. The Haemaeji Special Set lets you enjoy all these incredible dishes at once, so it's no wonder why it's such a hit! In fact, considering the amazing array of food, the price felt quite reasonable.

This single meal truly allowed us to savor the essence of Gangwon-do's coastal charm. It's definitely a restaurant worth visiting during your trip.

4. Ambiance and Interior

Stepping inside, I was immediately impressed by the spacious and inviting atmosphere. The main dining hall had ample seating, preventing any cramped feeling, and could comfortably accommodate large groups.

For those seeking a more intimate dining experience, private rooms are available, perfect for family gatherings or even a special meal with parents. With rooms that can host up to 20 guests and dedicated group seating, it's also an excellent choice for company dinners or social events.

Its location, right by Geojeon Beach and Geojeon Port, means you can seamlessly continue your travel adventure while enjoying your meal. After dining, a stroll along the Goseong coast is highly recommended. Haemaeji Hoejip truly won me over with its delicious food, delightful ambiance, and convenient facilities. I'll definitely be returning on my next visit to Goseong!
