Goseong Dinosaur Expo 2026: What's New & Family Tips

When you're looking for autumn travel destinations with kids,

for families with dinosaur-loving little ones,

the Goseong Dinosaur Expo naturally catches your eye, doesn't it?

I actually went there with my child last year!

At first, I just thought, 'There are lots of dinosaurs, so my child will love it,'

but when we actually went,

I realized it wasn't just exhibitions.

There were also plenty of hands-on activities,

and it was perfect for a full-day visit!

But then, seeing the news about the 2026 Dinosaur Expo this year,

I suddenly got curious.

“I went last year, but would it be worth going again this year?”

If you're like me and visited last year,

this is probably what you're most curious about.

So, I’ve put together what’s new for 2026,

and whether it’s worth revisiting with your kids!

🦖 2026 Goseong Dinosaur Expo: What’s New This Year?

The 2026 Goseong Dinosaur Expo marks its 10th edition

and its 20th anniversary!

This year, building upon existing dinosaur content,

the expo is being prepared with an emphasis on enhancing hands-on experiences and attractions.

If you're visiting with kids,

you'll especially want to keep an eye on these highlights⭐

From my perspective, having visited last year,

what really caught my eye wasn't just the addition of new dinosaur models,

but the inclusion of content where children can actively participate.

For kids who love dinosaurs,

it’s not just about seeing the exhibits;

they can now connect with them through hands-on experiences too!

2. Advance Ticket Booking

Advance ticket discounts for the Dinosaur Expo are available until September 21, 2026.

Since the Dinosaur Expo opens on September 22,

be sure to book your tickets in advance by the 21st, the day before it starts!

Last year, I visited without a plan,

and ended up paying for standard tickets.

But advance booking tickets are incredibly affordable!

Children's tickets are discounted by over 40%,

so for families with multiple kids, I highly recommend booking in advance

to get that discount~!!

These are the tickets I paid for last year,

and they're ~$1 more expensive this year (per ticket).

That's why I absolutely recommend advance booking!

3. Parade Information

🎉 Parades and performances too!

In 2026, a dinosaur parade and

performance content will also be featured.

Compared to large amusement parks, the parade might be modest,

but I recommend focusing on the dinosaur exhibits and experiences as the main draw,

and then enjoying the performances or parade if they fit your schedule.

Since the 2026 parade times haven't been announced yet,

make sure to check the official program schedule before your visit!

4. What to Bring & Strollers

What I felt was a big advantage of the Goseong Dinosaur Expo

when I visited last year was how easy it was to spend

the day following your child's interests.

However, the venue is quite large,

so I don't recommend planning to see absolutely everything from the start.

Strollers were available for rent for ~$1,

and when I visited with my 4-year-old, a stroller was absolutely essential!

There are plenty of great spots to spread out a mat,

so I highly recommend bringing a picnic set and a parasol~!

There's very little shade inside the expo grounds,

so a parasol is a must-have when moving around~

5. Food & Restaurants

Last year, it was mostly food trucks,

so there weren't many options for a proper meal.

But this year, they've really stepped up their game in this area~

Restaurants are now operating inside the Dinosaur Expo grounds!

With a Korean restaurant, a snack bar (bunsikjip), and a Chinese restaurant,

your dining choices have greatly expanded~

This year, there are still food trucks and Shinjeon,

Shinjeon offers meal options, and the food trucks provide snacks~!

6. Accommodation Considerations

If your family is visiting the Dinosaur Expo for the first time,

it's great to plan a full day from dinosaur exhibits to experiences. However, considering the accessibility to Goseong,

I highly recommend staying overnight!

Tongyeong is about an hour away from Goseong,

so I took the opportunity to visit Tongyeong

when I went to the Goseong Dinosaur Expo~

The Dinosaur Expo is just a 3-minute drive away,

so here’s a family-friendly resort with excellent accessibility!

As you'd expect from a resort, even the standard rooms are lovely and spacious!

But what I really recommend is

the Villa Block at Marina Resort!

As you'll see from the prices below,

the standard rooms and the villas are the same price on Trip.com,

so I absolutely recommend the Villa Block!!

Since there's also a night parade and fireworks festival,

you can enjoy the expo until late at night,

and it will be convenient for your trip to stay at a resort

located just a 3-minute drive away!

🍂 So, should we go again in 2026?

Speaking from my own experience of visiting last year,

if you're with a child aged 3-9 who loves dinosaurs,

I think it's worth visiting again this year.

Conversely, if your child isn't particularly interested in dinosaurs,

they might get a little tired due to the sheer size of the event,

so it's a good idea to consider your child's preferences first.

I also went last year and

thought, 'I've been there once, so that's enough.'

But after looking up this year's content again,

I started thinking, 'If I'm planning a fall outing with the kids, maybe I should go one more time?'

If you're planning a trip to Goseong with your children,

before your visit, make sure to check the admission tickets and program schedule

in advance,

and plan your visit leisurely, focusing on content

that your child will love.
