Hotel Gongsan Gongju Review 2026: Prime Location & Value
Discover Hotel Gongsan in Gongju, South Korea! This recently renovated hotel offers fantastic value, a prime location near the bus terminal and Gongsanseong Fortress, plus modern amenities perfect for families and budget-conscious travelers. Read my honest review from 2026!
My father and I recently embarked on a fantastic overnight trip to
Gongju and Buyeo, South Korea!
Our itinerary was perfectly planned: we’d spend a night near the
Gongju Bus Terminal before heading to Buyeo the next day.
Since we were traveling with my dad and had a packed schedule of outdoor sightseeing,
I made it my mission to find a clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly hotel.
I found exactly what we needed with a place that was
recently renovated, sparkling clean, and ideally located:
Hotel Gongsan in Gongju.
Let’s dive into my honest review!
📍 Hotel Gongsan Yeogwan
20 Jeonmak 3-gil, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea
📍 Gongju Comprehensive Bus Terminal
74 Singwan-ro, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea
📍 Gongsanseong Fortress
Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea
Hotel Gongsan is a mere 5-minute walk from the Gongju Comprehensive Bus Terminal,
making it an excellent choice for those traveling by bus.
One of Gongju's hottest attractions,
Gongsanseong Fortress, is also just a 20-minute walk away.
Alternatively, you can catch a bus directly to the fortress,
so it's perfectly situated for exploring on foot or by public transport.

Hotel Gongsan recently underwent a full renovation,
and it shows! The exterior is incredibly neat, which made me feel good about bringing my father here.

The hotel also boasts a spacious parking lot right next door,
so if you're driving, you won't have to worry about finding a spot.

Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 11:00 AM
You can manage your self-check-in and check-out through the kiosk on the first floor.
It was super convenient to handle everything from key collection to return in one go.

The first-floor common area is incredibly well-equipped, featuring luggage lockers,
a washer, dryer, a large shared refrigerator,
ice water with cups, and a coffee machine.
The luggage lockers were a particular godsend for us pedestrian travelers,
allowing us to securely store our bags before check-in or after check-out.

I booked a twin room for our stay.
They also have family-style rooms, and I've seen many glowing reviews from
families traveling with children, who were very satisfied!
Our room was spacious, airy, and meticulously maintained,
making it a perfectly comfortable and affordable place to spend the night.

One feature I especially appreciated in our twin room was the
low-profile bed frame.
It's a thoughtful touch that provides peace of mind for families with young children, eliminating worries about falls.
The bedding was spotless, ensuring a great night's sleep, and best of all,
the room was completely free of any lingering smoke or unpleasant odors – a huge plus!

Across from the bed, you'll find a small table and a wall-mounted TV.
There's also a window next to the bed, which was perfect for airing out the room morning and night.

Many hotels skip a dedicated vanity table, but Hotel Gongsan offers a generously sized one, which I appreciated.
Most essential amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided.
Even disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste are available!

Next to the vanity, there's a Styler (garment steamer/sanitizer) where I hung our clothes for a refresh.
It was great to have fresh, sanitized clothes to wear the next day of our trip.

We also had a generous supply of 5 water bottles, a hairdryer, and even a curling iron.
Hotel Gongsan also offers special 'Music Rooms' equipped with LP players, and to my surprise,
that's exactly the type of room I had booked!

The bathroom was arguably my favorite part of the room.
It was genuinely spacious and incredibly clean.
The bathtub was so large, I imagine 2-3 children could comfortably play in it!

Both the hot water and water pressure were excellent, and the bidet function ensured a refreshing experience.
If you're looking for a well-located and great-value hotel for your Gongju trip, I highly recommend Hotel Gongsan!
I've even put together a price comparison for weekday stays below.
