The ultimate highlight of any Nagoya itinerary!
A true pilgrimage site for Studio Ghibli fans: Ghibli Park!
But when you actually start planning, the ticket options and reservation rules
can feel a bit overwhelming, right?

"Which ticket should I buy?" "Can I buy them on-site?"
To answer all your questions, I have put together a complete guide based on my personal experience.
Let's break down Ghibli Park Tickets from A to Z.
1. What is Ghibli Park?
Ghibli Park is not your typical theme park with roller coasters and fast rides like Universal Studios.

Instead, it is a place where you stroll through nature and explore the beautifully recreated worlds of Ghibli.
Location: Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park (about 50 minutes or 15 miles from Nagoya Station)
📍 Ghibli Park
乙1533-1 Ibaragabasama, Nagakute, Aichi 480-1342, Japan
The Park Layout: 5 Unique Themed Areas
1️⃣ Ghibli's Grand Warehouse (The Main Indoor Area)
2️⃣ Hill of Youth (Whisper of the Heart)
3️⃣ Dondoko Forest (My Neighbor Totoro)
4️⃣ Mononoke Village (Princess Mononoke)
5️⃣ Valley of Witches (Howl's Moving Castle / Kiki's Delivery Service)

2. The Two Main Ticket Types (A Quick Comparison)
The ticketing system makes it simple, dividing entry passes into
the O-Sanpo Day Pass (Standard) and the O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium!
1️⃣ O-Sanpo Day Pass (Standard)
This is the basic entry ticket.
Access: Entry to all 5 areas (outdoor areas, plus full indoor access to Ghibli's Grand Warehouse).
Features: You must select a specific entry time slot for Ghibli's Grand Warehouse. Other areas can be entered freely throughout the day.

Drawback: You cannot go inside specific buildings like Howl's Castle, Satsuki and Mei's House, or the Okino Residence.

Weekdays: Adult 3,300 JPY (approx. $21) / Child 1,650 JPY (approx. $11)
Weekends/Holidays: Adult 3,800 JPY (approx. $24) / Child 1,900 JPY (approx. $12)

2️⃣ O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium
This is the ultimate all-access pass to the park.
Access: Entry to all 5 areas, including indoor access to all buildings.
Features: You can step inside highly detailed structures like Howl's bedroom, Kiki's childhood room, and Satsuki and Mei's kitchen.
Prices:

Weekends/Holidays: Adult 7,800 JPY (approx. $50) / Child 3,900 JPY (approx. $25)

✅ "I just want to enjoy the atmosphere, take photos, and see the main exhibits."
👉 Choose the Standard Pass

✅ "I don't know when I'll be back. I need to see every single detail, including Howl's bedroom!"
👉 Choose the Premium Pass (Highly Recommended)

⚠️ Premium tickets are highly limited and sell out almost instantly!
3. How to Book & Important Rules (100% Advance Reservations Only)
There are absolutely no on-site ticket sales. You must book online in advance.
✅ When to Book
Tickets go on sale on the 10th day of each month at 2:00 PM JST, two months in advance.
For example, tickets for November 2026 will open on September 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM JST.

1️⃣ Official Website (Boo-Woo Tickets) or Klook
Buying via Klook is often much simpler for international travelers.

"What if the official tickets are completely sold out?"
Don't panic!

You can book a guided day tour departing from Nagoya Station.

The Standard ticket only allows you to view the exteriors of the buildings and grants access to certain areas like Ghibli's Grand Warehouse. In contrast, the Premium ticket allows you to explore all five areas, including the interiors of the buildings, such as Howl's bedroom.
Ghibli Park operates strictly on a 100% advance reservation system, and no tickets are sold on-site. You must purchase them in advance online, with ticket sales opening at 2:00 PM on the 10th of the month, two months prior to your visit.
A limited number of same-day tickets for the interior of Howl's Castle are sold on a first-come, first-served basis for 1,000 JPY within the Valley of Witches area. However, since they can sell out early, it is safer to book a Premium ticket from the beginning if viewing the interior is a must.
