Geochang Itinerary: Gajo Hot Spring Foot Bath Review 2026

Planning a trip to Geochang often involves a lot of walking, especially when you include must-see spots like the Gamaksan Wind Farm and the Anti-Aging Healing Land.

After exploring these beautiful areas, our family's feet were definitely feeling the strain. That's when we discovered the perfect mid-trip pit stop to soothe those tired soles: the Gajo Hot Spring Foot Bath.

Sometimes, a full hot spring bath might be too time-consuming or inconvenient. In those moments, the Gajo Hot Spring Foot Bath offers a wonderfully easy way to relax and recharge before continuing your adventure.

Its location is incredibly convenient, too. Just a 10-minute drive from the Anti-Aging Healing Land, it fits seamlessly into any Geochang travel route.

We stopped by after lunch, and the short travel time made it a stress-free addition to our day.

The Gajo Hot Spring Foot Bath is operated directly by Geochang County, which means there's no entrance fee, and it's open for everyone to enjoy.

Before you dip your feet, remember proper etiquette: make sure to wash your feet thoroughly at the designated foot-washing station nearby!

The Gajo Hot Spring Foot Bath uses highly alkaline hot spring water with a pH of 9.7. The moment we dipped our feet in, we could feel how incredibly smooth the water was.

After a relaxing soak, our feet were warm and slightly rosy, and we felt all the accumulated fatigue simply melt away.

One important tip: it's best not to move or rub your feet excessively while in the hot spring. The water is quite warm, and it can cause dead skin to shed more easily. Since this is a shared public space, observing this small courtesy helps ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.

Also, we highly recommend bringing your own towel when you visit.

Our family didn't bring any, so we had to rely on the air dryer and air-dry our feet. During colder weather, this could leave your feet quite chilly and potentially lead to a cold.

On a previous trip, we visited Gamaksan, the Anti-Aging Healing Land, Modeun Sikdang, Bau Cafe, and finally, this foot bath. Aside from the Gamaksan Wind Farm, the other four spots are all conveniently located in Gajo-myeon, making for a perfectly packed day trip.

The Gajo Hot Spring Foot Bath, being an outdoor facility, closes during the colder winter months. It typically reopens on March 1st each year. Since it's August 2026, it's currently open and ready to welcome visitors!
