When I visited Busan, my local friend immediately recommended Gamcheon Culture Village.

With its vibrant murals, endless photo zones, and pastel-hued houses stacked like Lego blocks, it felt like stepping into a whimsical toy town.

1. Gamcheon Culture Village Parking

Gamcheon Culture Village is easily accessible by public transit, but it is also a great destination for road trips or rental cars.

You can park at the public parking lot right at the village entrance. The rate is incredibly affordable at around ~$0.06 per 10 minutes, or just ~$1.50 for the entire day, making it a stress-free parking experience.

If the main lot is full, head over to Gamcheon 2 Public Parking.

The rates are exactly the same, but keep in mind that parking here means you will have to hike up a fairly steep hill to enter the village, which can be a bit of a workout! 🤣

This village is massive. Even with a map, the winding maze of alleys can get beautifully confusing.

If you want to browse the souvenir shops, relax at a scenic cafe, and take your time, plan to spend at least 3 hours here.

While the colorful houses are the main attraction, you will find incredible street art at every turn.

Don't miss the famous 'Grand Canyon Fish' mural—a giant fish made of smaller wooden fish. It is one of the most popular photo spots after the Little Prince, so be sure to snap a picture! '-'

Since Gamcheon is a global hotspot, the souvenir shops are filled with unique treasures.

You will find everything from cute magnets and snowglobes to quirky Soju bottle-cap badges and traditional Korean keyrings.

There were so many unique items that it was incredibly hard to keep my wallet closed! lol

I collect travel magnets, but seeing all the gorgeous snowglobes almost made me switch my collection! 🤔

For a fully immersive experience, you can rent traditional Hanbok or retro Korean school uniforms.

It is incredibly popular with international travelers, and seeing everyone dressed up against the pastel backdrop makes the village feel even more magical!

The views here are stunning from any angle. The winding streets and colorful facades look just like a toy town.

Even the local apartment buildings blend into the landscape like toy castles.

I can only imagine how magical this place looks covered in winter snow!

Known as the 'village closest to the sky,' Gamcheon adopted the Little Prince as its mascot to symbolize stars, dreams, and the sky.

The statue sits on a ledge looking out over the colorful hillside and the distant sea, creating an incredibly picturesque photo spot.

Because it is so popular, lines can get very long. If you want to skip the crowd, I highly recommend arriving early in the morning!

You will also find beautiful quotes and artwork from the book painted on walls nearby.

4. The BTS Murals

Another reason Gamcheon has become a global sensation is the BTS connection.

Since BTS member RM visited, the village has become a pilgrimage site for ARMYs worldwide!

Alongside the Little Prince, BTS murals and themed merchandise are prominent highlights of the village.

You will find plenty of BTS phone grips, mirrors, and cases. If you're a fan, this is a must-visit spot on your Busan itinerary! '-'

5. Wandering the Hidden Alleys

Beyond the main streets, the real magic of Gamcheon lies in its narrow, winding alleys.

One of the most famous spots is the Stairs to See Stars.

At first, I thought it was a romantic spot for stargazing at night, but it turns out the 148 steep steps make you so dizzy climbing them that you literally 'see stars'! It is a hilarious but exhausting climb. 🤣🤣

You will also encounter unique art installations like the 'Room of Modern Man'—featuring realistic hands typing on computers—which was incredibly detailed and slightly eerie.
