On this Fukuoka trip with my mom,

we really got to feel like we were at a resort.

Our visit to Momochi Beach, a must-visit spot in Japan,

and Fukuoka Tower, located right by the sea,

were truly memorable.

Although it started drizzling from the moment we set off,

since it's a seaside destination I've personally visited many times,

I decided to set aside any disappointment and just enjoy a quiet stroll.

We went with that in mind, but it turned out to be even more picturesque and peaceful than expected,

allowing us to relax completely.

It's truly a must-visit place in Fukuoka.

After an early morning stroll along Fukuoka's Momochi Beach,

we entered Fukuoka Tower and got to enjoy

a refreshing, unobstructed panoramic view.

For Fukuoka Tower, the admission fee varies depending on the date of your visit.

2. Location of Fukuoka Momochi Beach and Fukuoka Tower

My mom and I stayed near Hakata Station,

so we took an early morning bus to get there.

If you take the subway from Hakata Station on the Airport Line,

you'll get off at Nishijin Station and have about a 20-minute walk.

That's why taking a taxi or bus is more convenient.

For instance, from the 1st floor bus terminal at Hakata,

if you take a direct bus like number 301,

in about 25 minutes, you can reach the

Fukuoka Tower Minamiguchi stop,

right in front of the tower. It's quite close!

There are route information staff members stationed throughout the 1st floor of the bus terminal,

who kindly provide directions to tourists in English.

So, don't worry and go find them!

When you get off at the bus stop, the 234-meter-tall tower building immediately catches your eye.

Before it got too hot,

I walked past the tower building and strolled along the beach first before entering the tower.

Seaside Momochi Beach Park, nestled in Sakaiizumi Bay,

was developed for the Asia-Pacific Exposition in 1989.

This beach is home to the landmark Fukuoka Tower.

It offers easy access from the city center,

and allows you to enjoy both a modern, exotic city skyline and the relaxed atmosphere of an exotic beach

all at once.

Of course, if you're imagining a large and bustling beach

like those found in famous Southeast Asian destinations,

you might be disappointed by its relatively compact size.

Nevertheless, you'll still see people leisurely swimming in the sea at the beach park.

It's also famous as a wedding photoshoot location,

with many tourists taking "once-in-a-lifetime" photos around the famous Marizon building.

All of this makes it a charming Japanese travel destination

where you can soak in a relaxed, exotic atmosphere.

We arrived bright and early, so we couldn't quite indulge, but

it felt as if we were floating right on the ocean.

was bustling with tourists dressed in lovely outfits, striking poses for photos.

It truly set the perfect scene for a seaside escape.

After a lovely short stroll, we made our way to the tower, majestically situated right on the beachfront.

this very spot!

This iconic structure was erected in 1989 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Fukuoka City's establishment,

and it proudly holds the title of the tallest tower built on a coastline.

Clad in an astounding 8,000 reflective glass panels,

its facade transforms with the seasons and time of day.

Just by gazing at the building, you can witness the reflections of the sky and the sea,

a truly captivating sight. At night, it offers a romantic

'Sky Illumination' experience.

From 123 meters above ground, you can marvel at the sparkling city lights and

the breathtaking night view of the coastline, creating unforgettable memories of your Fukuoka journey.

The official website posts the daily illumination schedule, and with different designs each season,

you can truly enjoy diverse illumination designs.

It's absolutely worth revisiting!

On the first floor, you'll find the ticket counter and a charming souvenir shop,

as well as a convenient store.

There are also fun photo zones dotted around,

perfect for capturing some memorable snaps before you head up.

I had already pre-booked my tickets through Klook,

so all I had to do was effortlessly show my QR code

to receive my ticket and enter seamlessly.

The flow is to take the elevator from the ground floor,

ascend to the 3rd-floor observation deck at 123 meters,

then explore the 2nd and 1st-floor observation decks by walking down floor by floor,

before taking the elevator once more to return to the first floor.

The 3rd-floor observation deck is a panoramic floor offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the coastline and city.

Here, you can also collect stamps, a fun activity for kids,

and pose for photos with pre-arranged props and signs in designated corner spots.

The breathtaking scenery, encompassing Momochi Beach, the Naka River, and the vast ocean,

is simply stunning every time I visit. As I often travel to Japan, I've had the pleasure of visiting several times,

and even on drizzly days, I've been lucky enough to enjoy expansive, clear views.

Since I arrived early, the Sky Restaurant 'Rookouji' on the 2nd-floor observation deck

was still closed, so I couldn't visit this time.

I recall from a previous visit that

they offered a delightful array of meals, desserts, and beverages,

making it a wonderful spot to relax comfortably, even with children.

The price, based on an Americano, is about ~$4,

which is pretty good for an observatory.

On the first floor of the observatory, there's a lovely spot for couples to take photos,

a heart photo zone. If two people stand and hold the heart pillar,

lights come on, allowing you to capture beautiful memories.

making it easy to take self-portraits with them as a romantic backdrop.

Beyond that, there's the Sky Gacha, Omikuji Pinball,

Even though it was drizzling,

my mom and I enjoyed a relaxing

resort-like atmosphere at Fukuoka's Momochi Beach,

and the wide-open sea views from Fukuoka Tower.

It was truly a romantic and picturesque destination for our Fukuoka trip to Japan.

We visited early in the morning, so we couldn't fully enjoy it, but around the Marizon building – a marine complex with a European resort-like atmosphere that seems to float on the sea – there were many tourists dressed beautifully and taking pictures, which truly created a perfect beach vacation vibe.

After a short stroll, we made our way into the tower, which is conveniently located right on the beach.

When I visited early, the sky restaurant Refuji on the 2nd floor of the observation deck

was still closed, so I couldn't go in. But I vividly remember from a previous visit

that they had such a fantastic variety of meals, desserts, and drinks,

making it a truly comfortable spot to relax and unwind, especially if you're with kids!
