and looking for places where you can enjoy the evening cityscape,
then **Momochi Beach and Fukuoka Tower** are definitely among the **must-visit spots in Fukuoka, Japan**.
The **two locations** are right next to each other,
so there's no need to travel separately.
In the afternoon, you can stroll along **Momochi Beach**,
and then head up **Fukuoka Tower around sunset**.
This way, you can enjoy **daytime views, the sunset glow, and the nightscape**
all at once.
Alternatively, it's also a great spot to just see the **Fukuoka night view** in the evening.

When I visited **Fukuoka**,
I also chose this combined itinerary,
and it was wonderful to experience a **different side of Fukuoka's atmosphere**,
distinct from the city center sightseeing.

While on-site purchase is an option,
I actually bought my ticket in advance!
Even though you still need to exchange it for a physical ticket at the counter,
it turned out to be a bit cheaper
than buying on-site :-)
When I bought mine,
it was available for ~$6.
And sometimes, during promotions, you can even snag it for ~$5!

While same-day purchase is possible,
it's even better to buy in advance since the tickets have a long validity period, right?

0 | 3 | How to Get to Fukuoka Tower |

Fukuoka Tower isn't right in front of a subway station,
and it requires a bit of a walk,
so taking the bus is more convenient.
✔️ If coming from Hakata Station
From Hakata Bus Terminal,
at Platform 6,
take Nishitetsu Bus No. 306
and get off at either TNC Broadcasting Hall Mae or Fukuoka Tower South Exit.
The journey takes about 25 minutes.
✔️ If coming from Tenjin
If you're departing from Tenjin,
at Platform 1A in front of Tenjin Bus Center,
take bus W1 or No. 302
and get off near Fukuoka Tower.
It's only about 15 minutes,
so getting there from Tenjin is quite easy.

There are other bus stops as well, so you can check with Google Maps before you hop on!
*Buses might be
I've noticed they often arrive a bit early or even a couple of minutes late.
✔️ If you're heading there by subway:
Hop on the Fukuoka Subway Airport Line,
and get off at Nishijin Station.
From Nishijin Station's Exit 1,
it's about a 15-minute walk to Fukuoka Tower Momochi Seaside.
If you have a subway pass,
taking the subway is also a great option!

If I'm starting from Hakata or Tenjin,
I find the direct bus without transfers to be more convenient.
For return bus times,
they run at intervals of about 15 to 20 minutes,
so keep this in mind!
𝟎 | 𝟒 | Fukuoka Tower Visit Duration Review |

The Fukuoka Tower observation deck isn't
super massive,
so it's good to set aside about 30 minutes to 1 hour for your visit.

If you happen to have large luggage or a suitcase,
you can store it in the coin lockers on the 1st floor (for a fee).

There's also a photo zone on the 1st floor,
so make sure to capture some memories!

Once you arrive, exchange your tickets!

Take the elevator
and you'll arrive directly at the observation deck.

123m Observation Floor
120m Cafe
116m Entertainment Floor
It's divided into three distinct spaces!
If you plan on taking photos
and also stopping by the cafe,
about 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes
should give you plenty of time.

As one of Fukuoka's must-visit night view spots,
Fukuoka Tower is actually better to visit
in the evening rather than during the day.
From the 123m observation deck,
you can enjoy panoramic views of Hakata Bay, Momochi Seaside,
and even the Fukuoka city center
all at a single glance!

I personally loved watching the city lights twinkle to life as evening set in.
There are also various photo zones inside,
and if you're visiting as a couple, you could even purchase a padlock
to create a lasting memory (ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)♡

They even have these fun stamps at the Japan Tower! >-<
I left a little memory on paper as a souvenir.

There was even a giant gachapon machine, so I gave it a try!
Unfortunately, I didn't win anything 🥹
But I still had a great time enjoying the night view before heading out.

It's not just the night view from Fukuoka Tower's observatory that's breathtaking;
Fukuoka Tower itself is beautiful when seen from the outside, too.
At night, the entire tower
is lit up with illuminations,
and the designs change with the seasons and special events!
✔️From September 11th to 27th,
there are even O-tsukimi (moon viewing) themed
illuminations planned.
So, instead of just seeing the observatory
and immediately heading for the bus,
I recommend stepping outside
and enjoying the tower's night view before you go.

Fukuoka Tower: A Must-Visit Spot in Fukuoka
The on-site adult admission ticket price is ~$6,
which isn't too heavy on the wallet,
but it's even cheaper if you buy in advance,
so it's a good idea to plan ahead! :_-)

If you combine Momochi Beach and Fukuoka Tower into one trip,
you can enjoy the sea during the day,
and catch the sunset and night view in the evening.
If you plan on staying for the night view,
I recommend arriving a little before sunset,
take a stroll along Momochi Beach first,
and then head up Fukuoka Tower! :)
