Discover Fukuoka's Tenjin Underground Mall! Explore a detailed map, directions, and must-visit shops like Imoya Kinjiro for sweet potato sticks and Kaldi for unique treats.

When you're shopping in Fukuoka, one place you absolutely have to visit is
the Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall.
Let's dive into some of the must-buy items and experiences
at the Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall!
I'll give you all the details, including a store map, how to get there, and the locations of popular spots like Imoya Kinjiro and Kaldi.😊
1. Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall Map & How to Get There

📌 How to Get to Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall
The Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall is a fantastic retail space located beneath the ground,
connecting Tenjin Station and Tenjin-Minami Station.
You can easily find it by heading underground from either
Tenjin Station or Tenjin-Minami Station!

📌 Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall Map
Imoya Kinjiro: No. 29
Kaldi: No. 30
Ringo Apple Pie: No. 8
Lindt Chocolate: No. 9
Papabubble Handmade Candy: No. 16
These are some of the most popular stores within the underground mall.
Imoya Kinjiro and Kaldi are closer to Tenjin-Minami Station,
while Ringo Apple Pie and Lindt Chocolate are nearer to Tenjin Station.
2. Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall Sweet Potato Sticks

📌 Imoya Kinjiro
Operating Hours: 10 AM ~ 8 PM
Imoya Kinjiro is famous for its sweet potato sticks at the Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall!
While it's true they've also opened stores in Korea, so there might not be a huge 'local shopping' advantage anymore, it's definitely worth a visit here! The prices are much lower than in Korea, and they offer a wider range of products.
Plus, this store is much smaller than those in Osaka or Tokyo, which is actually a hidden perk – you can shop much faster!

Sweet Potato Sticks Original 100g: ~$2
Original 200g: ~$3
You'll also find a variety of other flavors in store, like purple sweet potato and salted sweet potato.

They also sell freshly fried sweet potato sticks right in the store.
120g: ~$3
300g: ~$6
Personally, these are much more delicious!
However, their shelf life is quite short, only about 3 days, so I recommend buying them as a delicious treat to enjoy throughout your trip.

4 pieces: ~$3
When I visited, they also had some sweet potato treats shaped like Gangjeong (Korean traditional crispy snacks),
but the sweet potato sticks were definitely much tastier...!
3. Kaldi Shopping List

📌 Kaldi
Operating Hours: 10 AM ~ 9 PM
Kaldi is conveniently located right across from Imoya Kinjiro, making it perfect to visit both together.
Tip: The Kaldi store in Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall tends to be quite busy. If the checkout line is long, or if you're staying near Hakata Station, I recommend visiting a Kaldi store at Hakata Station instead.
There are two Kaldi locations in Hakata, and they are much larger and less crowded, making for a more relaxed shopping experience.

Kaldi Portion Coffee 498 yen
Whenever I go to Kaldi in Japan, this portion coffee is a must-buy!
While you can find portion coffees at various places like convenience stores and Don Quijote, I personally find that the ones sold at Kaldi have the best bean aroma and flavor.
They often have tasting events in-store, so I highly recommend trying it before you buy!

Spreads: Around 300 yen each
New spreads are released seasonally, featuring flavors like curry, mentaiko, kouign-amann, and melon.
Just when you think the trend might be fading, tourists always seem to pick up a lot of these as souvenirs!

Soy Milk Sandwich Cookies 280 yen
Truffle Potato Chips 198 yen
These two products are also things I always grab when I spot them.
The Soy Milk Sandwich Cookies often come out with different flavors, and even the Truffle Potato Chips sometimes get released as popcorn versions.
For their price, they taste incredibly luxurious and offer great value, making them my go-to snacks!
4. Other Shopping List Items

📌 Ringo Apple Pie
Operating Hours: 9 AM - 9 PM
Though it occasionally appears as a pop-up at Shinsegae department stores and isn't an exceptionally famous dessert, seeing locals queue up for freshly baked apple pie makes me feel compelled to join the line too!
While a freshly baked apple pie is truly the best, the one I brought home last time and heated up in my air fryer was absolutely delicious too!

📌 Lindt Chocolate
10 AM - 8 PM
I love that there are so many stores in Japan that sell Lindt chocolates individually. 😌😌
There's an incredible variety of flavors, and it's fun to pick your favorites and pay by weight.
While the price can be a bit steep, it's worth it to taste such unique flavors!

📌 Papabubble Handmade Candies
10 AM - 8 PM
I'm not a big fan of candies, so I only browsed, but I was amazed by the sheer variety of unique candy shapes, like Stitch-shaped handmade candies and those depicting famous tourist attractions.
They looked perfect for souvenirs or gifts!

By the way, there's also a drugstore within Tenjin Underground Shopping Center.
(It's located right around the center.)
They especially had a great selection of medicines and cosmetics!
Honestly, trying to shop at Don Quijote can often be overwhelming, so if you're looking for specific cosmetics, using a drugstore like this is a fantastic option.
It was actually much better organized than Don Quijote, and it was so easy to find cosmetics. 👍🏻👍🏻
I've put together this Fukuoka Tenjin Underground Shopping Center map, directions, and a shop-by-shop Fukuoka shopping list, so I hope it's helpful for those planning a trip.
