Fukuoka Night Itinerary 2026: Hakata & Nakasu Evening Guide
Arriving late in Fukuoka's Hakata? Discover the perfect night itinerary for 2026! Explore Canal City, savor Nakasu yatai street food, and shop at Don Quijote. Find all the best spots for an exciting evening.

🇯🇵
On your first day in Fukuoka,
Arriving in the evening and wondering what to do until nightfall?
When you're not quite ready to head straight to your accommodation,
I'll recommend some fantastic spots that are perfect for a relaxed visit.

First, you'll want to make your way to Nakasu.
Just 3 to 4 stops from Fukuoka Airport Station,
📍Kushida-jinja-mae Station and 📍Nakasu-Kawabata Station
are where these vibrant spots are located.
If you choose your accommodation in this vicinity,
it'll be even more convenient to explore right from your first evening!
Canal City Hakata

It's an absolute must-visit on any Fukuoka Hakata itinerary.
Canal City Hakata
You can grab some delicious snacks and indulge in some retail therapy!
With a wide array of brands, it's definitely worth exploring.

What's more, a spectacular fountain show takes place in the evenings,
so I highly recommend shopping, grabbing a bite,
and then catching the fountain show!
📍 Canal City Hakata
1-chōme-2-2 Sumiyoshi, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka, 812-0018 Japan
This is a blog review from my personal visit.
It's packed with everything from shopping mall info and featured brands to the fountain show schedule,
so be sure to check it out!

Nakasu Yatai Street

📍 Nakasu Yatai Street
那珂川 通り, 1-chōme-8-8 Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka, 810-0801 Japan
This is Nakasu Yatai Street, bustling from evening until midnight.
If you're looking to soak in the authentic atmosphere of Japanese street food stalls, this is the place!
It's conveniently located right next to Canal City, making it easy to visit both together.

Just a heads-up, yatai can be quite intimate, so they're not ideal for large groups.
I'd recommend visiting with 2 to 3 people.
Sadly, I couldn't find a spot myself on my visit! ㅜㅜ
Tsukiya (Butasoba)

If you weren't able to get a meal at the yatai, or
you're looking for a place to grab a bite a bit later in the evening?
Then Butasoba Tsukiya is my top recommendation for a late-night ramen fix!
Opening between 6 and 7 PM,
they're open until 1 AM on Mondays and Sundays,
until 2 AM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays,
and until 2:30 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
Always check their operating hours before you visit – it's a must!
I thoroughly enjoyed their delicious ramen with its clear, refreshing broth, paired perfectly with a cold draft beer.
📍 Tsukiya
〒810-0801 Fukuoka, Hakata Ward, Nakasu, 2-chōme−5−2 Mori Building 1F, Japan
This is my personal blog review after trying it out.
It's perfect for a satisfying yet light meal.

Exploring Don Quijote Nakasu Branch

If it feels too soon to head back to your accommodation after dinner,
a stroll through Don Quijote is an absolute must!
It was our first day, so we weren't planning on buying anything,
but looking around doesn't cost a thing, right!?
So, we popped into Don Quijote.
It's open 24 hours, so you can drop by even late at night.
Make sure to grab Don Quijote coupons~

I've been here many times,
but not everything at Don Quijote is necessarily cheap.
I also recommend checking out other drugstores!
And yes, it's duty-free!
They hand out duty-free info at the store~
📍 Don Quijote Nakasu Branch
3-chōme-7-24 Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka, 810-0801 Japan
These are my personal recommendations after trying and tasting them myself.
These items are pretty much guaranteed to be a hit...!! So, take a look before you shop.
