One of my absolute must-dos when I'm traveling in Japan is diving into the world of gachapon!
While Fukuoka city boasts many gachapon shops like cpla, my first stop is always the gachapon paradise on the basement level of Yodobashi Camera Hakata.
It's easily one of the biggest gachapon spots in Fukuoka, making it perfect when you don't want to trek all over town, or if your itinerary is packed and you can't visit multiple shops. This place has it all!

It's just steps away from Hakata Station's East Exit 5, making it incredibly easy to get to!

On the 4th floor, you'll find Lopias, Daiso, and GIGO, making it a great spot for a multi-purpose trip.
The 3rd floor also houses GU and ABC Mart, so you can tick off gachapon and shopping all in one convenient building!
To get to the gachapon shop on the basement level, you can take either the elevator or the central escalator.
Since it's only one level down, the escalator is usually the quicker and easier option.
Inside the Gachapon Wonderland
Once you're on the basement level, head past the computer section, and you'll spot the gachapon shop at the far left.
And don't worry about carrying a bag full of coins – there are convenient coin exchange machines available, so you won't need to bring heavy change!
Even before you fully step inside, you'll be greeted by an impressive array of gachapon machines!
Venture a little deeper, and you'll find a long corridor absolutely packed with gachapon machines on both the left and right sides. This is just a glimpse of the left side...
...and here's the right side! You can really get a sense of the sheer scale, can't you?
It stretches out in a straight line from end to end, which is perfect when you want to dive into gachapon collecting without constantly moving between different shops.
I even spotted some unique Beatles gachapon in the middle – pretty cool to see what they turn into!
I also found some Sanrio keyring gachapon with a brand-new lineup that looked super tempting, but sadly, they sold out right in front of me! I was really bummed, as those were the ones I wanted most.
Right next to the gachapon shop, there's a small game zone.
While there are some simple crane games here, if you're serious about your claw machine skills, the GIGO on the 4th floor is definitely the place to go. :D
And just when you think you're done, there are even more gachapon machines tucked away next to the game zone – it's truly a rabbit hole!
My Latest Gachapon Haul
This time, I finally managed to snag a recording radio gachapon that I'd been searching for ages!
My precious new gachapon is now safely displayed at home. I still need to sort out the rest of my collection, but... laziness strikes!
If you're looking to enjoy gachapon near Hakata Station, Yodobashi Camera's basement level is an absolute must-visit!
With Lopias, Daiso, and GIGO also in the building, it's even better to combine your gachapon hunt with some other shopping.
The Gacha Shop is conveniently located right next to Exit 5 on the east side of Hakata Station, making it very accessible. To reach B1F, it's easiest to use the central escalator. You'll find the Gacha Shop at the far left end, past the computer section.
This Gacha Shop operates daily from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM. There's a coin exchange machine available right inside the Gacha Shop, so you don't need to bring your own coins.
On the 4th floor of the same building, you'll find Lopia, Daiso, and GIGO, while the 3rd floor houses GU and ABC-MART. This allows you to conveniently enjoy both gacha and shopping along a single route. There's also a small game zone next to the Gacha Shop.
