If you're traveling to Japan, there’s one store you absolutely have to visit: Don Quijote.
It’s a shopping paradise with everything from snacks and cosmetics to daily essentials. You could easily spend an hour or two just browsing! Specifically, for beauty enthusiasts, it’s the perfect spot to find popular Japanese drugstore products all in one place – definitely a must-add to your shopping itinerary.

For my latest Fukuoka trip, I put together a rather unique shopping list. It’s a collection of beauty items personally chosen by a high school student at Don Quijote.
While Don Quijote is famous for its snacks and treats, today we're focusing purely on beauty products. Let's dive into what she picked out, from popular Japanese hair care items to sheet masks and makeup!

Fukuoka Don Quijote Shopping Haul

As you can see from the photo, it was quite a haul!
We picked up a variety of items, including Hakata strawberry sweets, mentaiko-related snacks, Matcha Kit Kats, Japan-exclusive treats, and even character merchandise.
But if you look closely, there are quite a few beauty products in there. Since these were chosen by a high school student, it was fascinating to see what cosmetics teenagers are into these days and what products catch their eye.

What was particularly interesting was that she didn’t just grab famous Japanese hair care products and sheet masks, but also familiar Korean brands like Rom&nd, Anua, and Wonjungyo.
This shopping list and prices are based on the receipt from our visit to Don Quijote Tenjin Nishidori.

Going through the receipt, she actually bought a wider variety of products than I expected. Some are frequently seen on Japanese travel shopping lists, while others are popular Korean brands.
The prices below are based on the actual purchase amounts from the receipt.
Product Name | Purchase Price |
Fino Hair Mask | ~$4 |
Kalamie Make Keep Pack | ~$6 |
Wonjungyo Moist Up Ready Skin Pack | ~$11 |
Mentholatum Lip Fondue | ~$4 |
Uruwashi Water Conc Moisture Hair Oil | ~$9 |
Anua Azelaic Acid 15 Serum | ~$15 |
Momori Hair Milk | ~$5 |
Rom&nd Dewyful Water Tint N14 | ~$8 |
Hello Kitty Narikiri Face Pack | ~$3 |
Kyuto Hair Mask | ~$9 |
Keana Nadeshiko Rice Mask | ~$4 |
Melano CC Enzyme Face Wash | ~$5 |
Canmake Marshmallow Finish Powder ML | ~$6 |

Since she's preparing to major in hair care, it's no surprise her shopping list included many hair care products.
From the Fino Hair Mask and Uruwashi Hair Oil to Momori Hair Milk and Kyuto Hair Mask, her selections clearly showed a strong interest in hair management.
For face masks, she picked up fun character items like Hello Kitty, alongside popular Japanese recommendations she probably researched online. It's pretty cute to imagine her scouring the internet for all the trending products!
Japan Don Quijote Tax-Free Shopping Tips (Updated for 2026)

If you’re planning to claim tax-free benefits at Don Quijote, it's essential to be aware of the recently updated tax refund procedures.
Effective November 1, 2026, the tax-free system in Japan shifted from **immediate tax exemption to a post-departure refund system**. This means when you purchase eligible tax-free items, you'll initially pay the price including consumption tax. Then, upon your departure from Japan, you'll get confirmation of your purchased goods at customs and receive a refund for the consumption tax.
To qualify for a refund, your total purchases at the same store on the same day must be **~$32 or more (excluding tax)**.

When shopping, you’ll need to present your passport to register your tax-free purchases. Upon departure, you must present your passport at the tax-free terminal at the airport or port to complete the customs verification.
Crucially, you must have all tax-free purchased items with you when you leave the country. If you use any of the cosmetics or other purchased goods during your trip in Japan, or if even a portion of them is not with you at departure, the entire purchase may be excluded from the refund. So, be careful!
