Fukuoka's famous Daimyo Shopping Street!
It's a must-visit spot for me every time I'm in Fukuoka.
If it's your first time in Daimyo and you're not sure where to start!
For those of you,
I'll cover 7 popular stores / opening hours / tax-free shopping / waiting tips
all organized along a recommended route.
1.몽벨 Montbell
Opening Hours : 10:30 ~ 21:00
No tax-free shopping
The reason I put Montbell first
is because it opens the earliest.
While other stores open at 11 AM,
Montbell opens 30 minutes earlier,
so if you're an early bird shopper, it's a great idea to check out Montbell first!
With Montbell's mascot bear doll, you can spot Montbell from afar! :D
Montbell bags are incredibly lightweight and come in a wide variety.
Since they're so light, I ended up getting one!
The average price is around ~$37-~$51, so it's not too much of a burden!
My dad loves hiking, so I also picked up a functional T-shirt for him.
There's a variety of thicknesses and sizes,
so if you're worried about the size, you can check the samples before buying.
The popular Montbell wallet line these days :)
The prices were affordable and there were many cute items.
It was a bit of a bummer that tax-free shopping wasn't an option.
2.스투시 STÜSSY
Opening Hours: Daily 11:00 ~ 19:00
Korean-speaking staff available during my visit / Tax-free shopping available
Stüssy always has a waiting line whenever I pass by.
If you visit in the afternoon, many items might be out of stock,
so if there's something specific you're looking for, I recommend getting there for the opening.
The waiting time is usually around 20-30 minutes,
and while some items might be more expensive than in Korean Stüssy stores,
there's also a chance to find items that are sold out in Korea,
which is why people tend to flock here early.
3.슈프림 SUPREME
Opening Hours: Daily 11:00 ~ 20:00
No tax-free shopping
As a popular streetwear brand, the proportion of Japanese customers was noticeably high,
and I occasionally saw Koreans too.
However, just like the reviews on Google Maps mention, the staff were quite unfriendly,
so even if I found something I liked,
it made me hesitate before making a purchase.
4.칼하트 Carhartt
On Google Maps, it doesn't show the relocated address,
so I'll skip including a map link.
It's where Supreme used to be,
and it's right next to BAPE.
Opening Hours: 11:00 ~ 20:00
Tax-free available
Carhartt Store Entrance
It's run together with a cafe, so you can grab a coffee too.
They sell a diverse range of products, from hats to wallets.
I visited three times in May, October, and December,
and the product lineup here was almost always the same.
While the price difference isn't huge compared to Korea, you can often find good deals when you factor in exchange rates and tax-free shopping.
I visited three times hoping to buy a Detroit jacket,
but unfortunately, they never had it in stock, so I always just ended up browsing.
5. BAPE
Opening Hours: Daily 11:00 ~ 19:00
Tax-free available / New stock arrives Friday & Saturday
Personally, among all the street brands,
I think BAPE offers the most durable clothing for the price!
The store isn't very big, so the selection wasn't huge,
but if there's something specific you're looking for, I recommend visiting early.
When I went in the afternoon, most of the popular items were already gone ㅠㅠ
6. HUMAN MADE
Opening Hours: Daily 11:00 ~ 19:00
Tax-free available / As of December '25, new stock arrives Saturday
Among Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Sapporo,
if you're looking for the place with the shortest waiting lines,
I'd say Fukuoka is your best bet.
For Human Made too, if you have specific items in mind,
I recommend visiting on a Saturday.
Perhaps because I visited on a Friday, there weren't many items available,
and I usually found a more diverse selection when I did an 'open run' (arrived right at opening time).
The real charm of Human Made is these magnets!
It's fun to collect them one by one :)
7. THE NORTH FACE
Opening Hours: Daily 11:00 ~ 21:00
Tax-free available
They even have The North Face Purple Label, which is exclusive to Japan,
making The North Face a must-visit for many!
It's also open quite late,
and there's hardly ever a wait, so it was super convenient to pop in anytime.
The 1st floor features their standard line, while the 2nd floor has both standard and Purple Label items.
While I was a little sad that the Purple Label selection wasn't super diverse,
if you're on the hunt for Purple Label pieces,
I'd also highly recommend checking out nanamica right next door.
Daimyo is fantastic because all the shops are nestled along charming alleyways,
making it super easy to shop if you plan your route well! :)

Montbell Fukuoka Tenjin operates from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM. However, Montbell is not a tax-free store.
Items might be out of stock if you visit in the afternoon, so if there's a specific item you want, we recommend arriving right at opening. The waiting time is usually around 20-30 minutes.
The Carhartt store is located where Supreme used to be, right next to BAPE. There's also a cafe at the store entrance where you can enjoy coffee.
HUMAN MADE usually restocks on Saturdays (as of December '25), so we recommend visiting on a Saturday. Additionally, arriving right at opening (open run) will give you a better chance to see a wider variety of items.
