Collectible Mugs

One of the most delightful finds at the Fukuoka Christmas Markets is the collectible mug cups!
When you order a drink that includes a mug, your beverage is served in the special cup, and you get to take it home as a souvenir after you're done!

Last year, including the drink, it was approximately 1,000 to 1,500 Japanese Yen. Please check the on-site menu for this year's prices.
Each market often features different mug designs, adding an extra layer of fun as you compare them across various locations.
Some markets even offer limited-edition designs for rainy or snowy days, so if you're a mug collector, keep an eye out for those weather-specific treasures!

Among the five locations I visited, Tenjin Central Park and Nakasu were my favorites.
If you want to fully immerse yourself in the lights and decorations, Tenjin Central Park is the place to be. For a scenic stroll along the river and fantastic photo opportunities, head to Nakasu!
You can easily combine Hakata Station with other plans, and for the Tenjin area, you can explore City Hall Square, Central Park, the Guest House, and Nakasu across different visits.
And here's a crucial tip: try to visit after sunset. The Christmas atmosphere truly comes alive once all the beautiful lights are illuminated.
If you're planning a trip to Fukuoka this winter, make sure to set aside some time to explore these enchanting markets!
