Looking for the best photogenic spots in Fukuoka? From the serene lake at Ohori Park to stunning views of Fukuoka Tower, here is your perfect day guide.

Planning your next adventure to Fukuoka, Japan?
If so, let me share three incredible spots near Hakata
that I personally explored and highly recommend!
These locations are easy to navigate, perfectly sequenced,
and guaranteed to level up your Instagram feed!
Make sure to check out the helpful booking link
at the bottom of this post to save some cash 😉!
1. Ohori Park
大濠公園
Ohori Park · Japan, 〒810-0051 Fukuoka, Chuo Ward, Ohorikoen, 1 Park Management Office
First on the list is the beautiful Ohori Park.
It is located just a convenient 5-minute walk from K06 Ohori Park Station.
Since Ohori Park Station is only a 10-minute subway ride from Hakata Station,
I easily squeezed this visit in right before catching my highway bus to Yufuin!
Because it is so close to the city center,
it’s the perfect place to visit during a quick layover
or right before your flight home!

Ohori Park features
a massive lake with a 1.2-mile walking trail surrounding it.
The wide-open, breezy atmosphere
makes it an absolute paradise for relaxation!

The endless water view is incredibly calming.
Visiting on a clear day was a dream—
even the clouds looked absolutely perfect in my photos!

You can easily snap the shot of a lifetime here without even trying!
My friend and I found ourselves stopping
every three steps just to take another photo.

As you wander around, you'll spot cute little signs like this,
which add a touch of whimsy to your walk!
I noticed a lot of locals out for their daily runs.
If you love keeping active and jogging while traveling,
this park is an absolute must-visit!
2. Momochi Seaside Park
シーサイドももち海浜公園
Momochi Seaside Park · 2 Chome-902-1 Momochihama, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka, 814-0001, Japan
Second on our list is Momochi Seaside Park.
This is a unique, modern man-made beach
built right along an artificial waterfront island.

Those European-style buildings you see sit right on the artificial island!
The beach area isn't massive,
so a leisurely 20-minute round-trip walk is plenty of time to see it all.

With its gentle waves and tranquil atmosphere,
it’s a popular spot for locals to lay out picnic blankets and read books.
Fukuoka Tower is located directly adjacent to the beach,
making them the perfect duo to visit together.
Just a quick heads-up: most of the restaurants and food stalls near the beach
don't open until late afternoon or evening.
I highly recommend grabbing a meal beforehand if you plan to visit early in the day!
3. Fukuoka Tower
福岡タワー
Fukuoka Tower · 2 Chome-3-26 Momochihama, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka, 814-0001, Japan
Our final stop is the iconic Fukuoka Tower.
As the city's signature landmark,
it is incredibly grand and futuristic in person.

Because it's so massive, fitting the whole structure into a single photo can be tricky.
But here is an insider tip!
If you stand with your back to the Fukuoka Tower entrance
and look toward the street you walked in on,
you'll spot a dedicated smartphone stand mounted on the ground.

To give you a better idea from Google Maps,
this is exactly what the stand looks like!
Place your phone on this stand,
switch it to selfie mode,
and you can easily capture yourself with the entire tower in the background!

By using the stand, you can snap super fun and unique photos like these! haha
While we were taking our photos,
we saw a family with a young child try it out.
The dad put the kid on his shoulders for the photo—
it was such a clever idea! 😊
You definitely have to try this out when you visit!

For Fukuoka Tower,
you can purchase tickets physically at the ticket office or book online.
When I arrived, I realized that
on-site tickets are quite a bit more expensive than buying online.
So, I quickly did a search right there, booked an instant-confirmation,
discounted ticket online, and walked right in!
It was a bit cloudy on the day of my visit,
so the visibility wasn't perfect.
But on a clear day, the views must be absolutely spectacular! ☀️

I’ve left the link below for the
instant-confirmation, same-day ticket
that I personally used.
Be sure to compare prices before you buy at the gate!
[Instant Confirmation/Same-Day Use] Fukuoka Tower Observatory Admission Ticket
It takes about 10 minutes from Hakata Station to Ohori Park Station, and the park is a 5-minute walk from the station. The short travel time makes it a great place to visit before departure or between schedules.
Many restaurants near Momochi Beach usually open from the afternoon to the evening. Therefore, we recommend having a meal before you visit.
If you stand with your back to the entrance of Fukuoka Tower and look toward the road you walked on, you will find a mobile phone stand. If you place your phone there and shoot in selfie mode, you can capture the entire tower in your photo.
Purchasing online is cheaper than buying tickets on-site. By booking online tickets, which are confirmed immediately and can be used on the same day, you can save money and enter right away.
