Fukuoka Airport to Tenjin: Your 2026 Transit Guide & ATM Tips
Just landed at Fukuoka Airport? This 2026 guide covers getting to Tenjin fast: free shuttle, subway, ATM locations, and transit card tips for a smooth Fukuoka adventure!

Hello, everyone! It's Yappie🐰
Today, I'm going to share our travel story
using Trinity Air, which rebranded from T'way
(but the plane is still T'way, haha!)

about our Fukuoka trip with my husband in early September,
departing from Daegu~!
On this Fukuoka trip,
here's what I realized the moment we arrived at the airport.

“Oh… Fukuoka Airport is really
close to the city center, haha!”
Immigration was much faster than I expected,
and getting to Tenjin was a breeze once we took the
free shuttle bus to the subway!
This time, I'll start by sharing **how to get from Fukuoka Airport to Tenjin**, based on my own experience,
and I'll also cover **the location of the Seven Bank ATM at Fukuoka Airport Subway Station** and
**some golden tips for using contactless transit cards**!
※Pro Tip: If you have a lot of luggage or are traveling with a group and want a comfortable, direct ride
from the airport to your accommodation,
I highly recommend a private Fukuoka Airport
pickup/drop-off service!
👇👇👇
1. Arriving at Fukuoka Airport!
Immigration was faster than expected
I visited Fukuoka last year too,
but this time, immigration finished incredibly fast.
It felt like it was much faster this year than last year, haha!
After clearing immigration and heading out,
you'll find yourself in the main hall with a big
'WELCOME TO FUKUOKA' sign.

From here, if you head straight to the right,
you'll reach the city bus stops.
Just head outside, and at Platform 5,
you'll find the free shuttle bus waiting to take you
to the domestic terminal.
The signage above is excellent, so just follow it
and you won't have any trouble :)
2. How to get from Fukuoka Airport to Tenjin,
starting with the free shuttle bus!

You just need to take the free shuttle bus from Platform 5
to the domestic terminal.
We hopped on the shuttle bus to the domestic terminal,
and it arrived much faster than we expected (just about 10 minutes!).
Then, after you get off at the domestic terminal,
take the escalator down, and you'll find the
subway right there.
Fukuoka Airport → Domestic Terminal → Subway → Tenjin
Just remember this sequence, and you're all set!

3. Didn't withdraw Japanese Yen yet? No worries, head to a Seven Bank ATM!
If you couldn't get cash inside the airport,
don't panic~

After you get off at the domestic terminal,
take the escalator down towards the subway, and a
Seven Bank ATM will be right there in your line of sight!

I used my Toss Bank card,
withdrew some cash as needed,
and headed to catch the subway.
As expected from the land of vending machines, there are also ice cream
and tangerine juice vending machines!

4. How to Get from Fukuoka Airport Station to Tenjin Station!

Since we were heading to Tenjin Station,
we took the subway.

From Fukuoka Airport Station,
both Hakata Station and Tenjin Station are on the orange line! (260 JPY)
If you have Japanese transportation cards
like Pasmo or Suica,
you can simply use them.
Here's a great tip I learned on this trip:
contactless payments are now possible!!

It turns out some cards, such as Visa or Mastercard,
can be used by tapping them, just like Korean transit cards!
I used my Toss Bank check card,
and my husband used his Hyundai Card Visa.

However, this isn't available at all stations,
and sometimes it didn't work on buses ㅠㅠ
There were even times when it was indicated as working,
but it didn't! haha
So, rather than relying solely on card payments from the start,
I recommend also having a transportation card or some cash ready!
Don't panic when you see both platforms!

When you go down to the subway level,
you'll see trains arriving from both platforms.
Don't panic thinking, "Which way should I go?" haha
Fukuoka Airport Station is the starting station,
so trains from both directions
can take you towards Hakata, Gion, Nakasukawabata,
and Tenjin.

It's the same when returning from Tenjin to Fukuoka Airport!
Getting back is just as easy.

Take the subway from Tenjin
to Fukuoka Airport Station,
then from the Domestic Terminal,
take the free shuttle bus (Platform 1) to the International Terminal.

The airport signs were well-provided in Korean,
so there was no need to worry much!

Fukuoka truly shines because the distance from the airport to the city center
is incredibly short – that's definitely the best part!
The shuttle bus system is so well-organized,
and the subway is incredibly easy to navigate,
it's no wonder why so many choose Fukuoka
as their first Japanese adventure!💛
So, if you're like me and were wondering how to get
from Fukuoka Airport to Tenjin,
take these tips to heart and enjoy a smooth, hassle-free journey!
