Fukuoka Airport Dining | Hakata Food Hall
Hakata Food Hall is the main food court located right after passport control in the International Terminal.

It brings together Fukuoka’s iconic culinary highlights, including udon, yakitori, motsunabe, and ramen. It is the absolute best spot for a final local feast.

I decided to try the clam udon. It was my first time having clam-based udon, and the clean, savory broth packed with fresh clams was incredibly comforting.

They have shichimi (Japanese seven-spice) at the counter. Adding a dash of it midway through gives the broth a spicy kick, completely changing the flavor profile!

I also ordered crispy gyoza and a cold draft beer (namabiru) from the stall next door. The combination of hot, crispy gyoza and ice-cold beer was the perfect way to wrap up my Fukuoka adventure!

Duty-Free Liquor | Local Yuzu Liqueur
One of my top priorities for this trip was buying premium Japanese Yuzu liqueur to recreate those delicious Yuzu Sours back home.

The duty-free liquor section is fantastic. Beyond standard Japanese whiskey and sake, they carry an impressive array of fruit liqueurs that make perfect souvenirs.

The staff are very helpful and speak multiple languages, including English, making the shopping experience incredibly smooth.

📌 Quick Duty-Free Allowance Guide
· US Residents: Up to $800 total value tax-free
· Alcohol Limit: Typically 1 liter (33.8 fl oz) tax-free per adult, though state-specific laws may vary.

Fukuoka Airport Uniqlo
You can't visit Japan without stopping by Uniqlo! I expected the airport departure gate branch to be tiny, but it actually has an excellent selection of travel essentials.

Since it is located inside the departure area, you get tax-free pricing automatically. It's the perfect spot to grab some high-quality basics if you didn't have space in your suitcase earlier!

Convenience Store & Starbucks
My friend ran over to 7-Eleven for one last convenience store haul. Be warned: the airport 7-Eleven is famous for its long lines, so make sure you leave plenty of time before boarding!

While my friend was waiting in line, I grabbed a coffee at Starbucks. It's a great place to relax and check out Japan-exclusive tumblers and seasonal airport merchandise.

Summary & Travel Tips
While my previous guide focused on the airport layout, today's review highlights how to best spend your time dining and shopping.
Grabbing a delicious bowl of udon at Hakata Food Hall, doing some tax-free shopping at Uniqlo, and picking up local liquor will make your departure from Fukuoka absolutely perfect.
