Etihad Stadium Tour 2026: Booking Guide & Insider Tips
Dive behind the scenes of Manchester City's Etihad Stadium! This 2026 guide covers booking your tour, exploring exclusive areas, and soaking in the legendary atmosphere.

After experiencing a thrilling Manchester City match live, I embarked on the ultimate Etihad Stadium tour the very next day!
While policies vary between EPL clubs, access to the home team locker room is typically restricted on match days and the day before. To ensure you see the full experience (and not just the away team's locker room), I highly recommend booking your tour for the day after a game.
Booking Your Manchester City Stadium Tour

Head over to the official Manchester City website, and you'll find a range of tour options. Beyond the standard tour, they offer exclusive experiences like the 'City Legend Tour' and VIP Stadium Tours.
Honestly, unless you're a long-time, dedicated fan, many of the 'City Legends' might be from an era you're not familiar with.
The standard tour, priced at just ~$34 per adult, is fantastic value. It includes access to the locker rooms, hospitality suites, and pitchside areas, all with a knowledgeable guide to enhance your experience.

It's essential to book your stadium tour in advance online; walk-up tickets aren't typically available. While weekday slots are usually more flexible, weekend tours fill up quickly, so plan ahead!
Unlike match tickets, you don't need a club membership to book a stadium tour.

Man City Match Day Experience: Tickets, Getting to Etihad Stadium, and Player Departures
I've detailed how to get to Etihad Stadium in my previous match day experience post. I found taxi fares surprisingly reasonable, so I opted for a Bolt ride from Piccadilly Station.

I highly recommend arriving about an hour before your scheduled tour time. This gives you a fantastic opportunity to walk around the stadium's exterior and soak in the atmosphere.

The club store is incredibly busy and crowded on match days, and you can't even try on jerseys as changing rooms are closed. On non-match days, however, it's a completely different experience – spacious, comfortable, and the changing rooms are open!
Plus, if you're touring or have just completed your tour, you'll receive a 10% discount.

I actually struggled to find the tour entrance initially. Just head straight along the right side of the stadium, and you'll spot Gate M2. Look for the 'Stadium Tour' flags – that's your destination!

After a quick bag check, simply show the staff the confirmation email you received after booking, and you're all set to enter.

The first stop is the trophy room. While it's free to admire the silverware, snapping photos with them comes with a fee, so I decided to skip that part.

Next, we moved to a hospitality room where a staff member gave a lengthy explanation about Manchester City's history and achievements. To be frank, if you're not fluent in English, it can be quite challenging to follow along.
This section alone took over 20 minutes, and I imagine it could feel a bit tedious if you'd just arrived.

Finally, the moment I'd been waiting for – the locker room! It gets quite crowded, so getting that perfect, unobstructed photo can be a challenge.

I quickly snagged a photo at De Bruyne's spot! The seats of Haaland, Bernardo Silva, and Foden were also incredibly popular.

This is Pep Guardiola's famous circular locker room setup. We got to sit in the players' spots and listen to the guide's explanations, truly feeling like part of the team.
It makes you wonder what Pep says in there when the team isn't performing at its best!
We then walked through the players' tunnel, leading us directly onto the pitch. To give us a taste of match day atmosphere, they even played crowd cheering sounds! 'Come on City!' indeed!

The Etihad Stadium truly delivers on its promise! Not only is the stadium itself impressive, but the pitch condition is immaculate. And yes, you get to lightly step onto the hallowed turf!

We even had the chance to sit in the manager's, coaches', and players' seats. They were incredibly comfortable – a real VIP experience!

After walking through a corridor celebrating Manchester City's championship history, we arrived at Pep Guardiola's press conference room.

You can even take a photo with an AI version of Pep Guardiola, but of course, it's a paid extra. It's not a 'pay-as-you-go' system; you actually need to purchase a separate ticket for this in advance. I learned the hard way that you can't buy it on the spot – it's likely an add-on option when you book your tour online.
While the tour lasted just under an hour, seeing the locker room was definitely the highlight for me. If you're a Manchester City fan, this stadium tour is absolutely worth every penny!
