ETF Bakery Busan Review: Ultra-Cheap Butter Rice Cakes
Discover ETF Bakery at Busan Station, featuring a unique fish market theme and their famous delicious butter rice cakes for an unbelievable ~$0.40!

Syuka, a famous Korean finance YouTuber,
wondered, "Why is bread so expensive
compared to the cost of its ingredients?"
So, he teamed up with Glow Seoul, a famous F&B branding agency,
to launch this unique bakery as a pop-up store!
ETF stands for "Express Trade Farm,"
meaning they cut down on distribution costs by sourcing directly from farms.
It's the ultimate budget-friendly bakery—
a concept that perfectly fits a finance YouTuber like Syuka!

Now, they have transitioned into a permanent shop,
and following their Seongsu and The Hyundai Seoul branches,
they've finally opened right at Busan Station!

I frequent Busan Station, and since it's right next door,
I noticed the construction. When the sign finally went up saying "ETF,"
I realized it was indeed that very same ETF Bakery! haha
📍 ETF Bakery Busan Station
1F, 216 Jungang-daero, Dong-gu, Busan
📌 Operating Hours: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
No parking available (Please use the Busan Station parking lot or nearby public parking and walk)

True to the "Express Trade Farm" direct-from-farm concept,
their other locations feature a rustic, farm-style vibe.
But here in Busan,
they've gone with a super unique, eye-catching fish market theme!

Menu, Prices, and Signature Items

With so many options to choose from, you'll be spoiled for choice!
Here's a quick rundown of their signature menu items.

Original Butter Rice Cake: ~$1
Premium Salt Bread: ~$1
Solid Butter Baguette: ~$1
Deep Chocolate Cornet: ~$3
Double Pistachio Cornet: ~$3
Champion Garlic Baguette (4 pcs): ~$3
Emmental Cheese Long Sausage Bread: ~$3
Jangtong Butter Bagel: ~$4
Smoked Butter Bagel: ~$4
Injeolmi Soboro / Peanut Red Bean Soboro: ~$3 each

Banana Milk (300ml): ~$4
Coffee drinks: ~$3 range

They also have a wide range of drinks, from coffee and ades to bottled beverages,
making it the perfect spot to grab a bite and a drink before hopping on your train.
My Honest Taste Test: Here’s what I really thought...

Receipt proof right here!
I tried quite a few different things, and personally,
the Banh Mi sandwich was my absolute favorite...
The price was super reasonable, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh.
Since it's a sandwich, you might expect just standard bread, right?
But actually, the bread itself tasted amazing,
and combined with the fresh fillings,
it totally made me want to go back for another.
(Personally, I felt the sandwiches offered much better value for money
compared to the regular pastries!)

Generally, the breads are quite large and heavy,
so they're actually super filling after just one.

To be completely honest, not *every* single item is an ultra-budget deal... haha.
They have a few "bait" items like the famous Butter Rice Cake Bread for only ~$1,
but the rest of the menu is just slightly cheaper
than other famous chain bakeries,
rather than being dirt cheap.
Since the Busan Station area itself tends to be on the pricier side,
ETF's prices just look relatively better in comparison.
Warning: Butter Rice Cake Bread Sells Out Fast!
After seeing the price, the one thing I absolutely wanted to try
was the Original Butter Rice Cake Bread.
It costs just ~$1 each, and it's so popular
that there's a limit of 3 per person.
But even though I got there at 11:30 AM,
it was already completely sold out ㅠ

The next batch wasn't scheduled to come out
until 1:00 PM, so in the end, I had to skip it.
The fact that it was gone on a rainy morning shows
just how incredibly popular it really is.
If you're planning a trip specifically for the Butter Rice Cake Bread,
I highly recommend aiming for the opening time.

Shop Vibe & Tips for Visiting
The shop is on the 1st floor,
but it's designed in a slightly elevated, split-level layout.
When you walk in, the bread displays are right in the center,
with a seating area along the windows to the left,
and the baking area and counter over on the right.

Since the seating and bread displays are separated,
the flow of the shop is actually quite nice.
(There are about six 2-seater tables,
making it perfect for solo travelers or small groups.)

There is one 2-seater table right by the window and five more inside, totaling 6 tables.
The baking area and the register are in the same space,
and since the space between the display stands and the counter is a bit tight,
I can see it getting pretty cramped when it gets busy.
Seeing how many people were there even on a rainy day,
it’s bound to be packed on weekends or sunny days!

Since it's located right next to Busan Station,
it is incredibly easy to get to
for both travelers and locals alike!
It's the absolute perfect spot
to grab some pastries and a drink before hopping on your train.

Since I visited during their early opening days,
it felt like they were still finding their groove a bit,
but overall, the experience was pretty good!
You definitely need to be ready to run there right at opening if you want the Butter Rice Cake,
and I can highly recommend the Banh Mi sandwich as a truly great value option.
If you're stopping by Busan Station, make sure to give it a visit!
