1. Dublin Cliffs of Moher & Galway City Tour
With limited time in Dublin, I was keen to find a tour that packed in some of Ireland's most iconic sights. The Cliffs of Moher and Galway City day tour immediately caught my eye! While I booked through a popular travel platform, it’s important to note that this specific tour was operated by a local company. The tour was conducted in English.
However, the English explanations weren't overly long or detailed; think of it more as convenient bus transportation for pick-up and drop-off at each location.

Our tour kicked off bright and early, around 6:45 AM, and we boarded the bus after a short walk from a central meeting point.
This meeting point seemed to be a hub for many different tour buses, so make sure to double-check your tour provider's name and bus before hopping on!

2. Cliffs of Moher near Dublin
Our first stop was the magnificent Cliffs of Moher. These are not just any cliffs; they're one of Ireland's top natural attractions, a UNESCO Global Geopark, located along the Atlantic coast in County Clare, Western Ireland.

And for all you Harry Potter fans out there, here's a magical tidbit: the Cliffs of Moher were famously featured in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" as the dramatic setting for the sea cave where Voldemort's Horcrux was hidden!

Be prepared for some walking, including uphill sections, so I highly recommend wearing comfortable sneakers and bringing that light windbreaker. As you explore the cliffs, you'll spot a stone observation tower. Climb to the top for a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the stunning coastline!

We also saw many unique rock formations that seemed to tell ancient stories. With about two hours of free time, I found myself simply gazing at the incredible coastline, and honestly, two hours felt barely enough to soak it all in.

Another reason the Cliffs of Moher are so special is their designation as a marine ecosystem and bird sanctuary. They're one of Ireland's largest seabird breeding grounds, making them a specially protected area. This means you get to witness a wonderfully preserved natural habitat and thriving marine life. Seriously, if you ever get the chance, a tour to the Cliffs of Moher is an absolute must-do!
3. Galway City near Dublin
At each stop, our guide conveniently used a whiteboard to clearly display our disembarking and re-boarding times, keeping everyone on schedule.

After leaving the dramatic Cliffs of Moher and passing through the unique landscape of the Burren National Park, we arrived in the vibrant Galway City. This charming city sits right on the coast, and the boats lining the shoreline added so much character to its already picturesque appeal.

Where the River Corrib meets the old city walls, Galway truly shines. Seeing the seabirds by the river and the remnants of ancient castles made for a truly captivating scene.

Coincidentally, a lively flea market was in full swing when we arrived, which made for some fun exploring and browsing.

As I strolled through the streets, I was struck by the colorful building facades, giving the city a charming, whimsical feel. It's definitely a place where you'll want to snap lots of beautiful photos! Galway is also renowned for its seafood, so if you're looking for a meal, this is the place. However, prices can be a bit steep, so I mostly focused on enjoying the street sights and atmosphere. If you're planning a trip to Dublin, I wholeheartedly recommend taking a guided tour like this one for easy, stress-free travel to these incredible spots rather than trying to navigate on your own.
