DoubleTree by Hilton Taipei Zhongshan Review 2026: 5-Star Stay
Looking for a 5-star hotel in Taipei's vibrant Zhongshan district? The DoubleTree by Hilton offers spacious rooms, excellent amenities, and unbeatable proximity to key attractions.

When you're looking for hotels in Taiwan, you might find accommodation prices higher than expected,
making it a tough decision on where to stay.
After pondering between Ximending, Taipei Main Station, and Zhongshan Station,
I ended up staying at DoubleTree by Hilton near Zhongshan Station.
It was super close, about a 5-minute walk to Zhongshan Station,
and the room was spacious at 36㎡! Both the location and room condition
perfectly met my criteria, as I didn't want to compromise on either!
I'll be sharing my stay review, covering everything from the twin room I stayed in, to the bathroom, amenities,
breakfast, and even the gym.
I'll also spill the beans on a pro tip to get a 10% discount on your booking!
1. Why This Taiwan Hotel is a Must-Stay

If you're looking for a place to stay in Taiwan,
I usually recommend checking out Ximending, Taipei Main Station, or Zhongshan Station first.
Ximending is fantastic for late-night fun,
Taipei Main Station offers convenient transportation but not much else around,
while Zhongshan Station has a slightly calmer vibe than the other two,
and its biggest advantage is that you can walk to all the best shopping, restaurants, and cafes.

DoubleTree by Hilton Taipei Zhongshan is
just a 5-minute walk from Zhongshan Station,
and the Din Tai Fung (Nanshi branch) is only a 4-minute walk away.
Plus, with a Carrefour supermarket and Ningxia Night Market nearby,
it was perfect for some late-night shopping!
2. The DoubleTree by Hilton Twin Room Experience

The room I stayed in was a Twin Room.
It featured two single beds,
and at about 36㎡, I immediately felt how spacious it was, especially for a Taipei hotel.
Even with two beds, as you can see in the photos,
there was still plenty of space for a chair and table by the window, and a desk.
It didn't feel cramped even with our luggage open, so
it would be perfect for a stay with your mom or a friend.

The bathroom was just as spacious as the room itself.
With separate areas for the sink, shower, and toilet,
and even a bidet,
getting ready in the morning with two people was a breeze, with no crossed paths.
Hotels in central Taipei tend to get pricey quickly as the location improves,
but DoubleTree is a 5-star hotel that still manages to be in the ~$148 range!

3. A Detailed Look at the Twin Room

Check-in: 3 PM / Check-out: 12 PM
We even received DoubleTree's signature cookies when checking in.
The lounge was well-equipped with sofas and tables,
making it a great spot to relax for a bit before or after check-in.

The bed was wider than it looked in the photos,
and the bedding was kept perfectly fresh and clean.
The bedding is something I subtly but significantly look for in a hotel,
and after exploring Taipei all day,
I remember having a wonderfully deep sleep here.
There was also a rather large round table and chairs in one corner of the room,
which was perfect for using a laptop or enjoying some late-night snacks we brought back.

Being able to watch YouTube on the TV
meant I could shower, lie down, and unwind with some videos at night.

The bathroom amenities were from Crabtree & Evelyn.
Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were provided in large bottles in the shower,
and hand wash and body lotion were also available.

The hairdryer was a TESCOM product,
and it was quite a bit larger than typical hotel hairdryers,
so drying my hair felt easy and efficient.

The room also had four bottles of mineral water,
and for coffee lovers,
a Nespresso machine with capsules was also provided.

Basic hotel amenities like slippers, bathrobes, a mini-fridge, and an electric kettle were all provided,
so I didn't need to pack much extra!
4. Facilities

Breakfast is served daily from 7 AM to 10 AM
at Alley Restaurant on the 2nd floor.
It's an a-la-carte system where you choose between Western and Chinese menu options.
(Breakfast price per person: TWD 770)

The fitness center had treadmills, stationary bikes, and other equipment,
which seemed perfectly adequate for a light workout during your trip.
Currently, the fitness center operates 24 hours a day,
so whether it's for a morning workout before sightseeing or after a late return to the hotel,
you can use it without any time constraints.
✔ For those looking for a Taiwan hotel close to a station
