Discovery Shores Boracay Review 2026: Why We Returned with Family

Boracay has so many resorts, doesn't it?

Among them,

if you're looking into Discovery Boracay,

aren't these the questions you're most curious about?

It's pricier than other resorts,

but is it worth the satisfaction?

Is it worth that much money?

Is it good for traveling with kids?

If it's in Station 1, isn't it far from D'Mall?

For our 6-night, 7-day trip to Boracay,

we chose Discovery as our second accommodation.

Actually, this wasn't our first time here.

13 years ago,

my husband and I, then just three years into our marriage, stayed here.

Back then, it was just the two of us,

but 13 years later,

we returned, this time with our daughter, making us three.

Among the countless resorts in Boracay,

there was a reason we specifically chose the same place twice.

Why we chose it again after 13 years

Its official name is now

Discovery Boracay

It's slightly different from its name 13 years ago;

back then, it was called "Discovery Shores."

It's a 5-star luxury resort

located in Boracay's Station 1.

Honestly, just looking at the price,

it's not a cheap place to stay.

But after staying there twice myself,

I realized its strength isn't just about good facilities;

it was the feeling of being truly pampered and enjoying a proper rest.

The memorable service from 13 years ago

was still just as incredible this time.

It started with a welcome drink as soon as we arrived,

our luggage was moved to the room during check-in,

and in the room, there were welcome gifts

and even a personalized message with my name on it.

These little differences made me think, "Ah, this is Discovery for sure."

Discovery Boracay Revisited

The pool was even better when visiting with our child

Unlike our previous trip as a couple,

this time we were with our child.

So, the pool was important.

My daughter loves the pool

much more than the ocean.

But what stood out to me even more wasn't

the size of the pool, but the service.

While swimming,

the staff brought us snacks and wet towels,

making us feel continuously

cared for, even at the pool.

There are also snacks available

for when you're feeling peckish.

If you're planning a longer stay at the resort with your child,

this kind of service can significantly boost your satisfaction.

Station 1

Proper Relaxation at White Beach

Another great advantage of Discovery Boracay is

that Station 1's

White Beach is right at your doorstep!

Thanks to the fine, white sand

and relaxed atmosphere,

simply gazing at White Beach

and doing nothing was pure bliss.

If Henann Crystal Sands was great for

an active trip, focusing on D'Mall accessibility and its pools,

then Discovery is definitely

a better fit for a trip where you truly unwind and relax at the resort.

It's great for families with kids, but

I could also understand why those looking for a honeymoon

or anniversary trip would choose this place.

Junior Suite Room

Spacious enough for our family of three

The room we stayed in

was a Junior Suite.

It was spacious enough for our family of three,

and we were really satisfied with how clean it was and the condition of the bedding.

What really stood out to me was

the room tidying service!

When we were there,

not only in the morning,

but also in the afternoon, they tidied up the room.

So when we came back from going out,

the bedding was neatly arranged again,

and even snacks and fresh towels were ready for us.

If you prioritize

how comfortably you can relax during your trip

over lavish interior design,

then this accommodation truly excels in those areas.

Breakfast: Cleanliness Over Flashiness

For breakfast,

we dined at Sands Restaurant.

Rather than an overwhelming array of dishes,

it felt like they had a well-curated selection of all the essentials, neatly prepared.

The fish dishes and grilled chicken were particularly delicious.

If you're like me and happy with just

some egg dishes and coffee in the morning,

then you'll find it perfectly satisfactory! 😊

Why You Shouldn't Just Compare Accommodation Costs

Seamless Pickup and Drop-off Service

When you arrive at the airport for Boracay,

it's not a destination where you can just head straight to your resort.

You need to travel from the airport to the port,

take a boat, and then make your way to the resort.

If you're traveling with children,

arranging pickup and drop-off can be quite a concern.

Boracay Discovery Shores, however,

provides complimentary round-trip transfer service

for its guests, covering the journey from

Caticlan Airport right to the resort!

We had already booked a separate airport transfer service,

so it's still a shame we couldn't properly utilize this benefit.

When comparing room prices,

don't just look at the accommodation cost;

make sure to check all included services, like airport transfers.

Even with the higher price, was it worth revisiting?

My answer is YES!

However, it's not a place I'd unconditionally recommend to every traveler.

If being close to D'Mall is your top priority

and you only plan to sleep at the accommodation,

then you might want to choose a more budget-friendly option.

( + We used the free shuttle bus to D'Mall )

On the other hand,

if you'll be spending a lot of time with your children at the resort,

if you want to relax in quiet Station 1,

if room condition and service are important to you,

or if the accommodation itself is part of the travel experience, like for a honeymoon or anniversary trip,

then I highly recommend it.

13 years ago, it was just the two of us;

this time, we returned as a family of three with our daughter.

Considering I felt it was definitely worth revisiting even after all this time,

it truly was a special and memorable place for our family.
