Top Taipei Restaurant Recommendations
Taipei boasts a plethora of fantastic eateries, but two stand out as absolute must-visits: Kiki Restaurant and the legendary Taiwanese dim sum hotspot, Din Tai Fung Taipei.
While Din Tai Fung has several branches, including its original location, the Taipei 101 Tower branch is the one I have photos from – my visit to the original predates my blogging days!

As one of the most iconic restaurants in the Taipei 101 Tower, Din Tai Fung makes a grand statement right from its entrance. It's a massive establishment, and with great popularity comes, unfortunately, great waiting times!
2. Din Tai Fung Opening Hours & Waiting Times

The restaurant is typically open from 10:45 AM to 8:30 PM. When I visited during a slightly late lunch, the Din Tai Fung waiting time was a staggering 130 minutes! Many hopeful diners, seeing that wait, would turn away or frantically search for alternative Taipei 101 restaurants nearby.

Thankfully, upon showing my voucher, I was assigned a separate, much shorter waiting time, bypassing the general queue.
Fact is, I hadn't purchased it specifically for a reservation slot, but rather because buying a set meal voucher in advance often works out cheaper. It certainly paid off!
3. Exploring the Din Tai Fung Menu
When you go with a pre-purchased meal voucher, the Din Tai Fung menu is conveniently curated into set options featuring their most popular dishes.
You can choose from four set menus: the 'Xiao Long Bao Conquest Set' and Sets A, B, and C. Just pick the one that best suits your group size and culinary desires.

The dishes aren't served all at once but arrive sequentially. Each time a new dish was brought out, the staff would mark it off on a paper, which was a fantastic system! It ensured no dishes were missed and helped us keep track of what we were eating. This level of service, combined with the incredible flavors, truly makes it a top Taipei restaurant recommendation.
4. How to Book Din Tai Fung in Taipei

Booking your Din Tai Fung experience is straightforward, typically done through popular travel platforms like Klook, KKDAY, or MyRealTrip, much like you'd book tour tickets or attractions. Below, I've compared prices for the identical set menus, based on current rates as of August 2026.
Din Tai Fung Taipei 101 Booking Comparison
Klook | KKDAY | |
Xiao Long Bao Special | ~$32 | ~$32 |
A set | ~$26 | ~$26 |
B set | ~$26 | ~$26 |

As you can see, Klook and KKDAY offer similar competitive pricing. There isn't a significant difference between the two, so feel free to book with whichever platform you're most comfortable using. However, a crucial factor to consider is discount coupons!
Currently, Klook doesn't seem to have any specific discount codes for Din Tai Fung.
