Just an hour to an hour and a half from Seoul (서울), Yeoju (여주) is perfect for a weekend getaway! Many of you are probably out enjoying the autumn flowers right now, and I also went on an autumn flower excursion to Dangnam-ri Island (당남리섬) in Yeoju on October 14th.

1. I Personally Visited Yeoju Dangnam-ri Island on October 14th!

Real-time Bloom Status of Cosmos and Buckwheat Flowers?

The real-time bloom status of the cosmos flowers at Yeoju Dangnam-ri Island is past their full peak, with petals starting to fall one by one.

After this weekend, the cosmos flower fields are likely to lose their vibrant splendor, so if you want to capture some life-long photos against a backdrop of fully bloomed flowers, you absolutely must visit this weekend.

At Yeoju Dangnam-ri Island (Daesin Island), in addition to cosmos and yellow cosmos, there were also fields of white buckwheat flowers.

The buckwheat flowers were lush and in great condition, making the scene of them swaying in the wind absolutely beautiful.

This weekend! Or, at the latest, by sometime next week, you can capture amazing photos, ride bikes, and enjoy walks with your furry friends amidst the vibrant autumn flowers.

2. Tips for Using the Dangnam-ri Island Parking Lot!

Parking at Dangnam-ri Island is free.

At the entrance to Dangnam-ri Island, Parking Lots 1 and 2 are located on either side. Here's a tip for those who want to minimize walking time: Go past the public parking lots 1 and 2, and you'll see a large open space further inside ⬇️.

If you want to reduce your walking distance even a little, I recommend trying to park in the inner open space.

I safely parked in Parking Lot 2 and walked, but it wasn't much of a difference than expected. There are many cars on weekends, so if you see an empty spot, it's much better and wiser to just park there immediately.

Hesitating might mean you can't park at all... lol

The restrooms at Dannamri Island (당남리섬) had separate men's and women's facilities, with one each at Parking Lots 1 and 2.

However, on the day I visited, the restroom in Parking Lot 2 was closed!

3. Insta-Worthy Photo Spots

Dannamri Island is so incredibly vast that you can easily get tired if you just wander aimlessly.

If you're simply going for a leisurely stroll, it's no big deal, but if you're aiming for those 'pictures of a lifetime,' make sure to head to the areas below first!

⑵ The buckwheat flower field and silver grass field.

⑶ From the entrance, the pink cosmos and old trees on the left.

What to Wear for Great Photos?

Since the flowers burst with vibrant colors, the ultimate cheat code for 'life-shot' outfits in a flower field is undoubtedly a clean, crisp look achieved with white, ivory, or beige dresses or shirt blouses.

I actually opted for a red-toned outfit, and red turned out to be an excellent choice too!

Especially when photographed in the buckwheat flower field, I truly felt like the main character..♥

There isn't much shade, so if you're visiting during the daytime, be sure to bring a hat or parasol, and also carry some cool water or drinks!

4. Recommended Travel Courses to Enjoy Together

Honestly, this particular festival isn't for those visiting this specific weekend, haha;

However, if you happen to be in Yeoju (여주) between October 23rd (Fri) and 25th (Sun), I highly recommend also stopping by the '2026 Yeoju Ogoknaru Festival (여주 오곡나루축제)' held at the Silleuksa Tourist Area (신륵사 관광지) in Yeoju!

With everything from roasted sweet potato tastings to various foods and experiential programs evoking an old ferry pier vibe, it's the perfect day trip course to combine with a flower-viewing stroll at Dannamri Island.
