Da Lat is a city with a completely different charm from coastal destinations like Nha Trang or Da Nang. It's one of those Vietnamese cities where you can truly feel **European-style architecture, lush nature, and a uniquely romantic atmosphere.**
I personally loved Da Lat's vibe so much that I stayed for several days, but **if you plan your route around the main sights, one day is actually enough** to see the highlights.

Riding the Alpine Coaster at Datanla Waterfall🛤️
One of the absolute must-do experiences in Da Lat is **riding the Alpine Coaster at Datanla Waterfall!**
To be honest, almost nobody goes just to look at the waterfall itself; the coaster is the main event and the real reason everyone makes the trip here.
The coaster zips down through the forest tracks to the base of the waterfall, where you can take in the views before riding it back up.
Here's a photo of the boarding area around 10:00 AM on a weekday.
Keep in mind that tour groups tend to swarm here in the mid-morning.
If you can, go right when they open. Alternatively, try to aim for around 10:00 AM after the first wave of tour groups leaves, or head there in the afternoon.

Once you've had your adrenaline fix on the alpine coaster, your next stop is **Da Lat Railway Station for some epic photos!**
Unlike most train stations in Vietnam, Da Lat Station features a stunning, European-inspired design that instantly transports you back in time.
It's one of **Da Lat's most iconic photogenic spots**, drawing travelers from all over looking to capture that perfect shot.
If you’re just walking around the station building itself, 30 minutes is more than enough.
However, if you have some extra time and the schedule aligns,
taking the vintage tourist train from here to Linh Phuoc Pagoda is an absolute must-try experience.

If you did an early morning run to Datanla Waterfall as your first stop,
If you head over to Da Lat Station without too much delay, you can catch the charming tourist train that takes you all the way to Linh Phuoc Pagoda.
👉 Grab is highly recommended if the train schedule doesn't line up with your plans!
(It takes about 20 minutes from downtown Da Lat to Linh Phuoc Pagoda)
Linh Phuoc Pagoda is famous for its unique mosaic architecture made from broken glass and pottery shards, making it a must-visit Da Lat landmark for many travelers.
The giant statue of Lady Buddha (Bodhisattva of Mercy), beautifully adorned with over 600,000 chrysanthemum flowers, is an absolute must-see here!
If you take the tourist train, the round trip from Da Lat Station to Trai Mat Station (where Linh Phuoc Pagoda is located) takes about an hour. Pairing that with around 30 minutes to explore the pagoda, you should budget about 1.5 to 2 hours in total to cover both the station and the pagoda.

After riding the Alpine Coaster and taking the train, it’s finally time for a little breather!
Head back to downtown Da Lat and visit the serene and beautifully landscaped Domaine de Marie Church.
Built in the 1940s during the French colonial period, this lovely pink church has a distinct European charm.
While the pastel-pink church building itself is gorgeous, the quiet, tranquil garden surrounding it is equally stunning.
Because it’s such a calm and peaceful space, it immediately felt incredibly healing and relaxing.
If you're just taking a quiet stroll, 30 minutes is plenty of time to look around. However, it’s also a perfect spot to linger a bit longer and soak in the serene vibes.

Da Lat Night Market is quite famous, and it has an impressively large scale to match its reputation.
Most of this wide plaza transforms into a bustling market when night falls.
These steps are an iconic spot you absolutely cannot miss at the Da Lat Night Market.
Sitting on these steps while eating Banh Trang Nuong (frequently dubbed 'Da Lat Pizza') is the ultimate way to fully immerse yourself in the vibrant night market atmosphere.
From crispy Banh Trang Nuong and various grilled skewers to fresh Da Lat strawberries and the famous avocado ice cream (Kem Bo), there’s an amazing variety of food and plenty of shopping to keep you entertained!
When night falls, the city takes on a completely different vibe compared to the daytime, making this market the perfect final stop to wrap up your day in Da Lat.

Group package tourists tend to crowd the area in the morning. Therefore, it is recommended to visit right at opening time, around 10:00 AM when the groups start to leave, or in the afternoon.
Taking the tourist train from Da Lat Railway Station to Trai Mat Station takes about 1 hour round trip, and including sightseeing time, it takes a total of 1.5 to 2 hours. If the train schedule doesn't fit your plans, you can take a Grab, which takes about 20 minutes to reach Linh Phuoc Pagoda.
Domaine de Marie Church is open from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Taking a quiet stroll through the peaceful garden and looking around takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
At the Da Lat Night Market, we recommend sitting on the market steps and trying Banh Trang Nuong, also known as Da Lat Pizza. Besides that, they sell a variety of foods including various skewers, Da Lat strawberries, and Kem Bo (avocado ice cream).
