Daifuku Udon Hakata Station Review: Best Quick Breakfast
Skip the long lines at Hakata Station and head to Daifuku Udon in Hakata 1-Bangai for a fast, delicious, and highly affordable Japanese breakfast.

Daifuku Udon
Right after arriving at Fukuoka Airport,
I headed straight to the Hakata Station basement
to grab a quick breakfast.
Hakata 1-Bangai, located on the B1 floor,
is packed with amazing spots for a morning meal.
Among them, Daifuku Udon
opens early and serves great breakfast sets.
This underground culinary hub features everything
from Kisui Maru to the famous Tenjin Hormon.
I initially tried to go to Kisui Maru,
but even at 9:30 AM, the queue was incredibly long.
So, I quickly pivoted to Daifuku Udon
and got seated immediately with zero wait time!
Hours of Operation
Sunday - Thursday: 7:00 AM - 9:30 PM
Friday - Saturday: 7:00 AM - 10:30 PM

Ordering is seamless—you just sit down
and use the tablet at your table.
They offer everything from breakfast sets
to udon, rice bowls, cold soba noodles,
and even special kids' menus.
The prices are extremely pocket-friendly.
Instead of spending over 1,000 JPY (~$6.40),
getting a hearty breakfast set in the 700 JPY range (~$4.50)
makes you feel like you scored a major deal!

They also have sides like natto
and several à la carte options.

With so many side dishes available,
you can easily customize your basic breakfast.

I decided to add some of Fukuoka's famous
mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and a Japanese rolled omelet.

They also serve shrimp cutlet bowls (katsudon),
tempura soba, and standard udon bowls.

You can opt for rice bowl & udon combo sets
or simply order a single noodle dish.

Chopsticks, spoons, and water are pre-set at the table.
Because of the efficient tablet ordering,
the food is served incredibly fast,
allowing for a clean and comfortable meal.

Simply tap your desired menu items,
press "Send," and pay at the counter on your way out.
They accept both cash and cards.

Seating Capacity
There are about 40 seats available.
Menu & Prices
Grilled Mackerel Set: 780 JPY (~$5.00)
Pork Cutlet & Cold Soba Set: 1,200 JPY (~$7.70)
Extra Rolled Omelet: 140 JPY (~$0.90) | Extra Mentaiko: 180 JPY (~$1.15)

The mackerel set comes with grilled fish,
traditional pickles, lotus root, rolled omelet, and soup.
The rice portion is generous and has a beautiful, glossy sheen.
It was a highly satisfying and budget-friendly meal.
The mentaiko was perfectly salty and served
as a small, delicious side portion.

The soba and pork cutlet bowl set
is also highly nutritious and very filling.

Honestly, while the taste isn't mind-blowing,
it is served piping hot, incredibly fast,
clean, comforting, and highly affordable.
Daifuku Udon is definitely a spot I'd return to
whenever I need a reliable, quick meal.
