Today, I'm just sharing a few tidbits.

The topics are a bit too small to be individual standalone posts,

but also a little too vague to be grouped into one category.

So, I've gathered together my thoughts on Dalat weather, Big C Mart, Dalat University, and my beloved The Alley. Let's dive in! 😂

First up, let's talk about the weather in Dalat, Vietnam.

It's hot.

Even though it's a highland area, it's still hot.

Sometimes when I see photos tagged with 'Dalat weather',

you might spot people wearing light puffer jackets.

Honestly, I don't think it's *that* cold. 😉

Oh, but you actually *do* see them sometimes! 😂

Not a lot, but

you'll spot them wandering around.

And at the Dalat night market, they even sell scarves and wool hats.

You'll often see people wearing long-sleeved tops and long pants.

If we compare it to Sapa in Hanoi, another highland area,

Dalat's weather is actually colder than Sapa's.

So, consider whether you're someone who easily gets cold when packing your clothes.

That should help you prepare.

Shorts or long pants will be a matter of personal preference.

In my case, I just brought one long-sleeved top to throw on.

But I barely wore it.

For reference, my friend also brought a long-sleeved top,

but she wore hers constantly! 😂

So, it's a good idea to pack based on your own tolerance for cold.

And besides... you can pretty much buy everything you need here,

and the prices aren't expensive at all.

So there's really no need to worry too much! 😉

(+A quick addition: It's already been about a month since I recorded this.

The intense heat in Korea has subsided quite a bit now,

so if you're thinking about that and feeling concerned,

bringing a few extra layers might not be a bad idea!)

Whenever I travel,

even if I don't always visit them,

the places I'm always interested in are markets and universities.

Local markets (the non-touristy kind)

are where I feel you can truly experience the local food and atmosphere.

That's why I seek them out.

As for universities, it's not some grand reason like wanting to see the academic environment of the youth who will carry the next generation of this country...

(yeah, not that grand, lol)

I'm just curious about the general vibe,

and how it might differ from what we're used to. 😉

So, I spontaneously decided to visit Dalat University!

But as if to remind me that this is Vietnam, the Dalat weather was incredibly hot,

On the way, I stopped by my beloved The Alley.

They don't have many branches in Korea either,

but here it is in Vietnam, and specifically Dalat??

There's a menu, but I didn't even look.

I just ordered my usual. 😂😂😂

The vibe of the store was like this.

There wasn't a single customer.

There's also a second floor if you go up those stairs,

but the first floor has a much better atmosphere. 😉

Oh, I ordered my usual menu item, but...

the difference between M and L size was only 8,000 VND (about ~$0)...

So I ordered the L size, and...

it was a lot more than I expected! 😂😂😂

After quenching my thirst

and taking a brief breather,

it was time to head to my main destination for this Dalat trip: Dalat University!

I could see it far in the distance.

When I entered through the main gate,

I was a little worried they might stop me, but

there was no problem at all.

Perhaps it was vacation time,

because even on a weekday, there was hardly anyone on campus.

It was a bit disappointing for experiencing the campus atmosphere,

but thanks to that, I was able to leisurely (?) look around.

Since I didn't have a specific destination in mind,

I started with the central library!

I headed towards the central library.

Voila!

Indeed, it has that grandeur you'd expect from a central library.

Let's go inside.

Sure enough, there's hardly anyone around.

(Though there were a few people, to be fair.)

Even here, getting in wasn't a problem,

since there were staff members at the desk,

I was a little worried they might say, "Sorry, only students from this university are allowed!"

but they saw me and didn't even bat an eye! 😂

So, I successfully made it inside the library!

Oh, there's one person diligently studying inside.

Other than that, it's totally empty...

Oh?

The view from the library is actually better than I thought, isn't it?

This is the view I captured from the window right next to the person who was studying alone earlier.

(I think that's right, anyway.)

The view was so good, it made my detour all the way there totally worth it! 😂

Here's a glimpse of another reading room.

There was one person studying here as well.

The location of Dalat University itself,

being on a slightly elevated area, offered a panoramic view of the surroundings.

Other than that... no students,

and no particular destination in mind, so I just headed back out! 😂

On my way out, I spotted Hangeul!!!

It was the Vietnam Korea Academy Center.

It looked like a King Sejong Institute, possibly a collaboration or partnership with Korea! 😂

I know it feels like a bit of an abrupt ending to that segment,

but that wraps up my Dalat University tour!
