If you were to pick places that could get chilly during a warm trip to Vietnam, it would probably be high-altitude Sapa and Da Lat. It's not always cold, and it can even be hot when the sun is out in the afternoon, but it can get quite chilly when it's cloudy or rainy. There was a Da Lat cafe that served Bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastries) – perfect for those cooler moments.
I didn't go there knowing that, but anyone could tell it was a Korean name, so I decided to check it out.
Sure enough! The sign was written in Hangeul (Korean script). And right in front, there was a huge Bungeoppang sign. I wonder if the locals like it too.

While taking photos, I wondered who that person was, only to realize it was a poster.
The cafe interior wasn't spacious, and it was quiet without any customers.

I had just eaten and was about to order a hand-drip coffee, but since I'd walked here and felt a bit warm... I just ordered an avocado coffee instead.
And then the Bungeoppang arrived! I usually expect Bungeoppang sold overseas to be mini-sized, so I ordered it thinking it would be small, but I was slightly surprised when it came out in regular size. You could choose between red bean (pat) or cheese filling, and being a classic fan, I went with red bean. The taste was similar to what I remembered, and it was delicious enjoying it after such a long time.
Next up was the avocado coffee.
Hmm...
It felt like an avocado smoothie with coffee extract added, and it was a bit... ambiguous.
Like coconut coffee, but with the sweetness removed? It was equally refreshing and had a coffee taste, but with a subtle lack of sweetness. It's supposedly one of their signature items, but its unique charm... I'm still not quite sure about it.
But as I kept drinking it, I started to think it wasn't bad after all? Haha.
Cafe Jigeum in Da Lat's opening hours are from 7:40 AM to 9:30 PM.
If I had looked this up beforehand, I would've asked why 40 minutes! Haha. I only looked it up while preparing this post, so I couldn't ask. The reason for 7:40 AM, not 7:30 or 8:00 AM!!

The location is a bit tucked away, so I don't think it would attract many customers, unless they have a truly unique signature item. Bungeoppang is somewhat of a signature, but honestly, for Koreans, it's nothing special. If they're targeting locals, I'm not sure about Bungeoppang's popularity there, though these days, Korean coin bread seems to be quite popular.
They also give out these coupons, but unless you live here or are doing a "one-month stay" type of trip, it would be hard to collect them all by yourself during a trip. It might be possible if you're with companions.
The reason I have two (coupons) is because I ordered another hand-drip coffee as well.

On the way to the restroom inside, there were quite a few books, which seemed to be a space created for Korean residents or their children.
I heard they also help book local tours here. So if you ever need a local tour, you could ask them while you're there. However, you can book directly yourself, or if that's difficult, you can ask the front desk at your hotel to help instead. So there's no real need to seek this place out just for that service. If you're traveling in Da Lat and the chilly weather makes you crave warm Bungeoppang, then Da Lat Cafe Jigeum is a place worth visiting.
