While planning our trip to Qingdao, we wanted a modern ocean-view hotel close to May Fourth Square.

From the moment we walked in, the lobby exuded a chic, upscale vibe.
When staying in hotels in China, my top priority is always cleanliness.
Crystal Orange Hotel exceeded expectations—the rooms were spotless,
and there was absolutely no cigarette smell, which can be a common issue elsewhere.
The front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful,
and they offered several great local promotions.
This quickly became our favorite accommodation in Qingdao!

It is the perfect base, even for first-time travelers to China.

2. Modern and Clean Room Condition
We were a bit skeptical looking at the booking photos, but once we checked in, we were thrilled to find that the rooms look exactly like the pictures!
The bedding was top-tier—fresh, crisp, and incredibly comfortable.
The room was remarkably spacious with a massive flat-screen TV.
We loved grabbing local takeout in the evening and enjoying it at the in-room dining table. 👍
The bathroom, vanity, and shower area were completely spotless.
Unlike older hotels that can feel dated or carry a faint smell of smoke,
this place felt incredibly fresh and breathable.
Even though it is rated as a 4-star boutique hotel,
the room quality felt closer to a 5-star property.
The modern aesthetics and clean design really elevated our entire vacation experience.
3. Ocean View Rooms: Worth Every Penny
At first, we wondered if booking an ocean view in the city was worth it,
but waking up to the sea every morning was absolutely spectacular!
While it is not a secluded resort panorama,
the mix of the modern city skyline and the sparkling ocean
gives you that quintessential Qingdao coastal vibe.
Watching the sunrise and the golden hour sunset from our window
made staying in the room feel like an attraction in itself.
Given how affordable the hotel is overall, we highly recommend upgrading to the ocean view room!
