01. Shanghai Hotel with Oriental Pearl Tower Views

When planning my trip to Shanghai, the very first thing I worried about was the accommodation!

Since I really wanted a room with a view of the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower,

I carefully compared several options before finally booking the Conrad Shanghai!

True to its 5-star rating, the facilities were stellar, but above all,

the Oriental Pearl Tower view was absolutely breathtaking...

03. Conrad Shanghai Location

The Conrad Shanghai is

located right in front of People's Square,

so Nanjing Road, The Bund, and popular restaurants like Hejiu Yiqian

are all within walking distance. The location is truly unbeatable!

It was perfect for dropping off shopping bags during the day and heading right back out,

and also super convenient for walking back after watching the night view at The Bund!

If this is your first trip to Shanghai, I can guarantee

this location alone will make your stay incredibly satisfying!

04. Check-in & Room Condition

We checked in to the Conrad Shanghai at the 11th-floor lobby.

It can be slightly confusing at first since the main lobby isn't on the ground floor,

but the signage is very clear, so finding it was a breeze!

✔️ Check-out Time: 12:00 PM

The room type we booked was the Standard Bund View Room,

and we were assigned a room on the 36th floor.

As soon as we stepped inside, the very first thing that caught our eyes

was the sweeping view through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows!

The Conrad is famous for its views, and being on a high floor certainly helped,

but having that completely unobstructed vista was truly spectacular.

As expected of a 5-star hotel, the room was incredibly

clean, and it even had a desk and a cozy sofa where I could relax

while taking in the stunning Oriental Pearl Tower view!

The curtains open and close automatically, which felt so smart and high-tech...

When booking hotels in China, many people worry about cigarette smoke smells,

even in the luxury ones. But the room I stayed in

was completely odorless and fresh, which was an immediate relief!

A multi-adapter is an absolute must!

Although China uses 220V,

the outlet shapes are different, so a universal adapter is essential!

Most hotels use the flat two-prong type (Type A), so I highly recommend packing a multi-adapter

to charge your phone, smartwatch, power bank, and laptop

all at once, quickly and easily!

The bathroom featured a split layout with a separate vanity, shower, and toilet area,

and there was a bathtub too—perfect for a relaxing soak!

I was thrilled to find that all the amenities were Byredo products! Love it!

The entire bathroom was finished in elegant marble, giving it a very luxurious vibe.

Since I was traveling to celebrate my birthday, I contacted the hotel in advance,

and they were kind enough to prepare a complimentary cake in the room along with a bottle of wine

as a gift! It made my day so special! haha

And even though breakfast wasn't included in my booking, they even threw in a free breakfast service...

​The Oriental Pearl Tower View

The ultimate reason why I booked the Conrad Shanghai!

It was, of course, for the Oriental Pearl Tower view.

The Shanghai skyline viewed through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the room

was so incredibly breathtaking that I found myself staring at the nightscape for hours...

While the Oriental Pearl Tower isn't super close, there are almost no buildings blocking the view,

so the overall panorama was absolutely beautiful.

Watching the Shanghai night view light up as the sun went down

from the comfort of my room without having to step outside was pure bliss.

The morning view was also way more stunning than I had expected.

If a view of the Oriental Pearl Tower is a top priority for you, Conrad Shanghai

is a highly recommended "scenic hotspot" accommodation in Shanghai!

05. Breakfast Review

Breakfast is served at the restaurant on the 11th floor.

06:30 AM ~ 10:30 AM

If you add it on-site, it costs 280 RMB (~$39), which is a bit on the pricey side,

but if you add breakfast in advance when booking, it's only 160 RMB (~$22), which is much cheaper!

If you're planning on having breakfast, booking in advance is a must!

The breakfast buffet offers a great variety, including Chinese, Western, bakery items, fresh fruit, salads, and more.

Everything was very well-prepared.

Personally, the freshly baked pastries were my absolute favorite!!
