For my birthday celebration, I embarked on a wonderful
3-night, 4-day adventure to Busan,
and on the second day, I had the unique experience of staying at a Hanok hotel!
If you're planning a family trip,
or perhaps you're looking for an alternative to Busan's ocean-view hotels
because they feel a bit repetitive or are simply too pricey!
If these thoughts have crossed your mind, then this post is definitely for you.
Just like you, on the first day of my Busan adventure,
I checked into the beautiful Park Hyatt Busan in Haeundae.
But when it came to picking our accommodation for the second night,
my boyfriend, wanting to surprise me with a truly unique experience,
took the initiative to find a special Hanok hotel in Busan.
And the best part? It's incredible value for money!!

The Busan Hanok Hotel we ultimately picked was none other than
Dating back to 1979, this hotel carries a rich tradition,
and its exterior showcases the distinct elegance of traditional Korean Hanok architecture.
Step inside, however, and you'll find the rooms are wonderfully clean and modern,
ensuring our stay was perfectly comfortable and seamless.
I did a little digging and discovered that the hotel underwent a major renovation in 2023,
completely refreshing all 168 guest rooms. How amazing is that?
That explains why, despite its long history,
it felt incredibly fresh and new, with absolutely no hint of being dated.

We booked a city view room,
and the fact that it had a separate terrace
really impressed us!

Location of Busan Commodore Hotel and Comparison with Other Hotels
Busan Station, Jagalchi Market,
Gukje Market, and Nampo-dong
are all nearby,
making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing.
However, since the hotel is located on a hill,
the walk up
was a bit steep.
While ocean views are a strong point
for hotels in Haeundae,
Busan Commodore Hotel
offers a clear distinction with its traditional Hanok (Korean house) concept,
a definite unique selling point,
And for a 4-star hotel, the price was also
The fact that there weren't many great restaurants nearby
was a slight bummer, but
we had planned to explore outside
and eat dinner out before coming back,
so it wasn't an inconvenience at all!
From our room,
the view towards Busan Station was wide open,
offering a pretty fantastic view!

A Complete Rundown of Busan Commodore Hotel's 4-Star Facilities
The address is 151 Jungguro, Jung-gu, Busan,
located in Yeongju-dong.
Check-in is at 3 PM,
and check-out is at 11 AM.

Although we didn't get to use it this time,
the sauna is divided into male-only and female-only sections,
and features a dry sauna.
Operating hours vary by day,
so we recommend checking beforehand if you plan to visit.
There's also the Onsaemiro breakfast buffet,
and while we didn't add breakfast to our booking,
they say you can get a discount for pre-booking.
It's discounted to around ~$14 per adult for early bookings,
so if you're interested, be sure to check it out when you make your reservation!
There's also a separate banquet hall for weddings or large events,
which gave us the impression that this hotel is incredibly well-organized
and structured.
It's a 4-star hotel,
with excellent value for money,
If you're looking for a Busan Hanok Hotel,
I highly recommend it for couples or families!
Parking is free,
and all you need to do is register your vehicle number at check-in,
so it wasn't a hassle at all.
Honest Review of the Terrace Room at Busan Hanok Hotel Commodore Hotel
After a long day of sightseeing,
we set out a birthday cake, wine, and
some snacks on the terrace,
and enjoyed a relaxing second round.
It was truly wonderful.
Actually, on the first day,
this trip felt even more special because I received a surprise proposal.
The only downside was that there weren't many
walkable restaurants nearby,
but other than that, it was a very satisfying stay.
The bedding was so fresh and comfortable,
I had a wonderful night's sleep!
