Discover if Comfort Inn San Diego Airport at the Harbor is your ideal stopover! This 2026 review covers its prime location, amenities, and value for a convenient stay.

Hello everyone, it's Ongsang!
My recent trip to San Diego
happened to be over the US Independence Day holiday weekend.
Initially, I planned to catch the fireworks display properly,
so I looked into hotels near the harbor.
But since it was a holiday weekend,
the prices were absolutely insane!
Even though I tried to book in advance,
hotel rates were much higher than usual.
After searching through various options,
I found the Comfort Inn San Diego Airport at the Harbor, which included breakfast and was a bit less burdensome on the wallet,
so I went ahead and booked it.
Anyway, I knew I'd be coming back late after the fireworks,
so my only goal was to get some sleep.
All I needed was a comfortable place
to lay my head down, and that was enough.
To jump straight to the conclusion:
it was a satisfying stay for one night.

Location: Absolutely Perfect!

I knew it was close to the airport when I booked it,
but arriving here, I realized just how convenient it was for getting around.
It was also super close for heading to Old Town the next day,
making it a great spot for planning our travel itinerary.
After checking out, we just had to cross the street
to find Better Buzz Coffee.
We grabbed sandwiches and coffee there
to kickstart our morning.
(Overslept and missed breakfast, oops! ㅠㅠ)
If you're looking for a place to stay overnight
near San Diego Airport,
I think you'll be really pleased with the location!
The Room Was More Spacious Than Expected!

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the room
since I just planned to sleep there.
But stepping inside, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was!

We were assigned a first-floor room,
which was super convenient since we didn't have to lug our suitcases up and down stairs.
The bed was perfectly fine,
and it definitely met our needs for a one-night stay.
The air conditioning worked great, keeping us cool,
and despite being near the airport, the noise
wasn't as much of an issue as I thought it might be.

However, there was that slight musty smell
typical of some older American hotels, and the shower space was quite small,
which was a minor drawback.
The Second-Floor Terrace Was a Nice Touch!

On the second floor, there was a space with tables
and chairs set up.
I thought it would be a lovely spot to grab some takeout
and enjoy dinner there in the evening.

While I didn't get a chance to use it myself,
it looked like a perfect spot to relax and unwind.
And Yes, There's a Pool!

The hotel also had
a swimming pool.
My schedule was too tight to enjoy it,
but for those traveling with kids or looking for a more relaxed stay,
it seemed like a great amenity to casually enjoy.

The swimming pool operating hours are
from 8 AM to 10 PM.
Comfort Inn Breakfast

This was my biggest regret.
I got the time wrong and went late,
so I ended up missing breakfast.

There was a DIY waffle maker,
bread, cereal, yogurt, bananas,
milk, orange juice, coffee, and more.
It seemed more than enough
for a simple breakfast.
The Comfort Inn chain in the US is all pretty similar,
so keep that in mind.
