Com Ngon Siba Review: Best Local Eats in District 2

Looking for an authentic Vietnamese home-style meal in District 2?

We recently had dinner at Com Ngon Siba in Thao Dien.

It feels like a modern, clean, and highly organized take on traditional local dining!

Here is a quick breakdown of the name:

Cơm: Rice / Meal

SIBA: The brand name

Siba is actually a food and agriculture brand under the BaF Group, a major Vietnamese agricultural conglomerate. This means they source their ingredients directly through their own fresh food supply chain, ensuring high quality and safety.

The restaurant is fully air-conditioned, making it incredibly cool and comfortable. With prices ranging from ~$1.60 to ~$3.60 USD (40,000 to 90,000 VND), it offers phenomenal value for money!

How to get there: Cross the pedestrian bridge from Vincom Mega Mall (An Phu Metro Station) and walk in the opposite direction of Mega Market. You will see it right along the street.

We expected a small, cramped local joint, but we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious, bright, and exceptionally clean the interior is.

You order and pay directly at the counter. They have a clear menu board displaying their various set meals and a quick introduction to the SIBA brand.

Since the main meat portions can be light for big eaters, we decided to order three different set meals for the two of us.

Every order comes as a complete set, featuring a generous serving of white rice, a hot soup of the day, side vegetables, and even a small slice of seasonal fruit for dessert!

An English-speaking staff member kindly pointed out an afternoon promotion. From 2:00 PM daily, three of their popular sets are discounted to just ~$2.00 USD (49,000 VND) each! Naturally, we ordered all three promotional sets.

We snapped a photo of the WiFi password since we plan on making this a regular spot.

Our food arrived incredibly fast! We didn't realize each dish came as a massive individual tray, so having three trays on our table was quite a feast.

Here is our honest review of the dishes:

1. Crispy Roasted Pork Belly (Thịt Heo Quay): Hands down our #1 favorite. The skin was exceptionally crispy while the meat remained incredibly juicy.

2. Deep-Fried Pork Trotter: Reminded us of a German Schweinshaxe—crispy, rich, and delicious.

3. Sweet and Spicy Pork Ribs & Fish Sauce Chicken: Classic Vietnamese comfort flavors that pair perfectly with hot white rice.

This is the quintessential everyday Vietnamese meal. Beyond rice plates, they also serve Pho and Banh Mi, making it a popular haven for solo diners and expats looking for a quick, clean, and nutritious bite.

Near the counter, you will find a self-service station with napkins, various sauces, and fresh chopped chilies to customize your meal.

The lunch rush cleared out quickly, leaving us to enjoy our meal in a quiet, air-conditioned sanctuary.

There is a clean handwashing sink located in the hallway, which is incredibly convenient before and after your meal.

While staff will happily clear your table, they also have a designated tray return station. Returning our own trays earned us a very warm "thank you!" from the kitchen crew.

Because they are backed by a major agricultural group, they even sell bags of their own premium brand rice right inside the restaurant.

Like most traditional businesses in Vietnam, they keep a beautifully maintained small altar on the floor to invite good fortune and prosperity.

They also offer fantastic Banh Mi and beverage combo deals that are perfect for a quick breakfast or light lunch on the go.

Com Ngon Siba is relatively new, keeping the dining space incredibly clean, modern, and inviting. It is the perfect spot to enjoy authentic Vietnamese home cooking without sacrificing comfort or hygiene. If you are in the Thao Dien or An Phu area, we highly recommend stopping by!
