1. Why You Need a VPN for Your China Trip

I've traveled to China multiple times, visiting cities like Shanghai, Qingdao, and Dalian!

In China, access to streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, or even some websites you regularly use back home can be restricted.

My family and I often travel to China together, including my parents and grandmother. Since Chinese hotel TVs rarely offer channels from our home country, I usually bring my tablet to stream our favorite shows and dramas in the evenings.

However, when I connect my tablet to the hotel Wi-Fi, I can't access Netflix or other streaming services from back home. (I even thought my iPad was broken at first, haha!)

But here's the quick fix: just connect your VPN to a server in your home country, and everything works instantly!

After multiple trips to China, I've learned that a VPN is an absolute essential, especially when relying on Wi-Fi.

If you're bringing a tablet or laptop, I highly recommend installing it before you even leave home!

A VPN isn't just useful for China; it's a lifesaver when your banking or credit card apps from home don't work abroad.

For instance, on recent trips to Taiwan and Turkey, I couldn't change a credit card PIN or access certain banking functions from overseas. But as soon as I connected my VPN to a server in my home country, it worked instantly!

Now, I regularly use it when I urgently need to access a domestic website or handle banking tasks while traveling internationally.

2. Get a Free China VPN Trial Without Payment

But let's be honest, paying for a VPN for just a few days of travel can feel a bit wasteful, right?!

I've definitely been tricked by "free" VPNs before, only to find out I had to pay in the end, haha!

With PandaVPN, you get a 1-day free trial just by signing up!

There's no need to purchase a subscription upfront. You can simply register and start your trial immediately, making it perfect for anyone looking for a free China VPN trial for a short trip!

If you're like me and only need a VPN occasionally for travel, this is a great way to try it out for free before committing!

3. PandaVPN Installation and Usage Guide

Using it is super simple!

First, head to the App Store or Play Store and search for "PandaVPN" to install the app.

You'll need to grant additional permissions to use the VPN. The registration process is incredibly straightforward, too!

Once installed, simply open the app and tap the "Auto Connect" button, as shown in the video above, and you're all set!

If you run into any issues, don't worry! Live chat support is available (from 9 AM to 3 AM KST) to help you out.

PandaVPN also lets you choose different connection modes depending on your internet environment.

For example, use Speed Mode when speed is a priority, Global Mode in environments with access restrictions like China, or Emergency Mode if your connection is unstable on hotel or airport Wi-Fi. You can switch modes to suit your situation!

Start with Speed Mode, and if you experience connection issues or frequent disconnections, simply try switching to another mode!

4. Pricing & Summary

If you find you need the VPN beyond the free trial, you can purchase a subscription based on your desired duration.

A 1-month plan for one device costs around ~$7,

making it an affordable option even for those staying long-term in China for business trips, studies, or language programs!

When you're preparing for a trip to China, adding another expense for a VPN can feel like a burden.

That's why PandaVPN's 1-day free trial just for signing up is such a fantastic feature – you can try it out without any financial commitment!
