2. The Szechuan Menu at This Tai Kwun Hotspot

The menu here is primarily Szechuan cuisine, known for its bold and spicy flavors. If you're a fan of 'mala' dishes – that unique numbing and spicy sensation – you're in for a treat!
The best part is that you can adjust the spice level to your preference, so even if you're not a huge fan of intense heat, you can still enjoy the incredible flavors at this Tai Kwun hotspot.

Their Mapo Tofu and Dan Dan Noodles are absolute crowd-pleasers and consistently top the list of favorites!

3. Must-Try Dishes
Szechuan Mala Pepper Beef Short Ribs

The Szechuan Mala Pepper Beef Short Ribs are a game-changer! The aromatic mala and peppery notes perfectly complement the incredibly tender, slow-cooked short ribs. This was my first time trying this dish, and I'd even recommend it over the popular Ginger Beef for those looking for something truly special!
Foie Gras Ginger Beef

Next up, the Foie Gras Ginger Beef. The richness of the foie gras paired with the subtly sweet and aromatic ginger beef creates an exquisite combination! Served with crispy rice crackers, it's a perfectly balanced dish that avoids any heaviness. Highly recommended!
Chili Pork Dumplings

The Chili Pork Dumplings were another first for me, and they absolutely hit the spot! The spicy chili sauce instantly awakens your palate, and they're so addictive you'll find yourself reaching for another one as soon as you finish the first.

Ginger Beef
The Ginger Beef, featuring the same delicious beef from the foie gras dish, is a personal favorite of mine, so much so that I ordered it as a standalone main course!

The subtle ginger aroma perfectly complements the tender beef. It's a delightful blend of sweet and savory, making it an excellent pairing with plain white rice!
Mushroom Medley

The Mushroom Medley, served in an oyster sauce base with dried mushrooms, boasts an incredible umami depth. Its chewy texture is so satisfying, almost like meat, that I just couldn't stop eating it!
Spinach Dan Dan Noodles

And finally, the Spinach Dan Dan Noodles. This dish features a rich, savory peanut sauce served with healthy spinach noodles, meant to be mixed and enjoyed. If you're a peanut lover, you absolutely have to give this a try!
4. A Perfect End: Desserts You Can't Miss

Don't even think about leaving without trying their desserts! The absolute must-have is their signature Chili Chocolate Ice Cream!

This is my go-to dessert every time I visit Hong Kong. It's a rich chocolate ice cream with a subtle hint of chili that adds a delightful kick. It's a unique treat that everyone, regardless of their spice preference, is sure to love!
