Hello, I'm Kim Jigu!
On a recent weekend, my husband and I hit the road bright and early in our electric car, heading south towards Busan.
It felt like Busan was endlessly far, no matter how much we drove...
Eventually, we pulled into the Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area on the downhill (Busan-bound) side to grab some snacks and catch a quick nap.

I was so stiff and tired that we urgently stopped at the Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area (Busan-bound). The facilities were clean, and there were so many snack options, I was glad we decided to stop! Haha.
In today's post, I'll introduce you to some of the best eats at Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area, so pay attention! =)

The Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area (Busan-bound) is located at 59-50 Hajigil, Cheongdo-eup, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, serving traffic heading south.

Since it's a rest stop you'll see while driving towards Busan, its accessibility is excellent.
Perhaps because it's the southbound lane, it felt more relaxed and pleasant than the northbound side.
That's why it was truly a great place to take a break.
Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area Snacks

Thinking we were almost there, we endured the drive all the way from Seoul without stopping at any rest areas. By the time we finally reached Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area (Busan-bound),
I had held out so long that my appetite exploded!

After quickly parking, we immediately headed to the food court.

The overall atmosphere at Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area was calm, tranquil, and noticeably clean.
Like most Korean rest areas, there were plenty of snack options like roasted potatoes, hot dogs on a stick (hotbar), and Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes).

Even though we visited outside of a holiday rush, all the snack stalls were fully stocked, and no items were out of stock, which was great.

I ordered Tteokbokki, which is perfect for a light bite.

It had been a while since I'd had Tteokbokki with a noticeable sweetness.
It wasn't just good because I was hungry; it was genuinely delicious Tteokbokki.
The best spot at Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area is definitely the snack bar! ~~~ Haha.
The snack bar owner said they could only provide fish cake broth if I brought my own cup... ㅜ..ㅜ
A bit disappointing, but it was still undeniably tasty!
Amenities

The Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area (Busan-bound) has amenities like showers, a laundry room, and a nursing room. However, I didn't see a gas station or an EV charging station.
The Daegu-bound direction, on the other hand, had both an EV charging station and a gas station. It seems the availability of amenities varies depending on which direction of the rest area you're visiting.

These days, I see kids' play facilities at every rest stop.
The Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area (Busan-bound) also has gacha toy machines!

While it's not the ideal rest stop if you need to refuel your electric car or gas vehicle,
the Cheongdo Saemaeul Rest Area (Busan-bound) is perfect for stopping by its snack bar and grabbing some quick bites to satisfy your hunger!
Highly recommended!
