Central Hotel Shanghai is the perfect base for your urban adventure!
1) Just a 10-minute walk to Nanjing East Road
2) Incredible access to top-rated restaurants and shopping
3) Exceptionally spacious rooms at a budget-friendly price
I booked this hotel primarily for these three reasons, and let me tell you—it completely exceeded my expectations!
Hotel Location & Check-in Experience
Central Hotel · 555 Jiujiang Rd, Huangpu, Shanghai, China, 200002

Central Hotel is super close to the Nanjing East Road subway station.
Even better, it's well within walking distance (less than a mile) to iconic landmarks like The Bund and the Oriental Pearl Tower.
Because of its prime location and proximity to fantastic local eateries, it's easily one of the most highly recommended stays for international travelers.
Lobby & Room Condition

Stepping into the lobby right after arrival, I was immediately struck by its massive scale—classic grand Chinese hospitality at its finest!

It felt almost palatial. With elegant chandeliers and plenty of high-speed elevators, getting up to the room was always a breeze.

The room itself featured a plush bed large enough to comfortably sleep three people.

Equipped with a cozy sofa, a dedicated workspace, nightstands, and warm ambient lighting, it's perfectly suited for both business trips and leisurely vacations.

Since I was on a higher floor, the windows offered a breathtaking, panoramic view of the sparkling Shanghai skyline.
A huge bonus: the windows actually open! Being able to let in some fresh air is a surprisingly rare feature in high-rise city hotels.

The floor plan is incredibly generous. Even with three massive 28-inch suitcases fully opened around the bed, there was still plenty of room to walk around.
The seating area was perfect for enjoying late-night snacks. I highly recommend downloading local food delivery apps—we ordered so many amazing midnight treats straight to the hotel!
(Shanghai's delivery apps are fantastic, definitely take advantage of them!)
There's also a spacious wardrobe and a vanity desk, which was a lifesaver for organizing all my travel gear and getting ready in the mornings.

What truly blew my mind, though, was the bathroom. It was practically the size of another bedroom!

The layout was brilliant, featuring a completely separate bathtub, a walk-in shower, and a private toilet area.

Housekeeping replenished the high-quality toiletries daily, ensuring we always had everything we needed to freshen up after a long day of exploring.
Between the massive living space and the unbeatable location, this hotel is truly optimized for an unforgettable Shanghai getaway.
They offer a variety of room types, including Twin, Deluxe, and Suite options.
For reference, I stayed in the Superior Business Queen Room.
