Chichen Itza, Cenote & Valladolid Tour Isla Mujeres Tour Rio Secreto Tour Snorkeling & Cenote Zipline Adventure Xcaret Natural Water Park |
1. Chichen Itza, Cenote & Valladolid Tour
From Mayan ruins to cooling off in the water, all in one go!
While Cancun is famous as a gorgeous beach getaway, nearby lies Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World where the ancient Mayan civilization truly comes alive.
Plus, with a refreshing dip in a cenote (Mexico's natural freshwater sinkholes) and a visit to the beautiful nearby colonial town of Valladolid, this tour lets you check off historic ruins and water activities all in a single day.
If you're a fan of history, ancient ruins, and archaeological mysteries, this is an absolute must-do in Cancun!
2. Isla Mujeres Tour
An open bar and a buffet enjoyed right on a catamaran yacht
Located just a 30-minute boat ride from Cancun is Isla Mujeres, beautifully known as the "Island of Women."
While the island itself is gorgeous, the real highlight of this tour is the incredible party on the catamaran yacht.
We're talking an open bar with unlimited drinks and a delicious buffet lunch!
Plus, a friend's family did this tour in the winter and were lucky enough to spot wild dolphins on the way!
3. Rio Secreto Tour
The mysterious and hidden underworld of Rio Secreto Cenote
Rio Secreto is the tour I actually chose, and true to its name (meaning "Secret River"), it takes you on a trek through a hidden underground river.
Wading through Rio Secreto inside a subterranean cave makes you feel like a professional explorer.

Word is, Rio Secreto might face development in the future, meaning tours could potentially stop within the next 10 years.
It hasn't even been open to the public for very long!
So if you want to experience untouched, pristine nature, you need to go before it's too late.
4. Snorkeling & Cenote Zipline Adventure
Snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea and exploring cenotes by zipline
This tour combines snorkeling in Cancun’s stunning, crystal-blue ocean to spot marine life with the thrill of ziplining right into one of the region's most famously beautiful cenotes.
It's a signature Cancun adventure that you can't experience anywhere else. If you love water sports and high-energy activities, this is an absolute must-add to your Cancun itinerary!
5. Xcaret Natural Water Park
Unleash your inner adventurer at Xcaret, a water park crafted entirely by nature
Xcaret is no ordinary theme park—it’s a massive eco-archaeological park carved right out of the Caribbean nature.

Since it's a natural park, it features natural pools, snorkeling, and cenotes, alongside wildlife encounters, Mayan ruins, and high-adrenaline activities like jungle tours, ziplining, and parasailing. It basically bundles every iconic Cancun experience into one ultimate destination!
If you’re short on time but want to experience everything Cancun has to offer, Xcaret is hands-down your best bet.
I debated between this and Rio Secreto until the very last minute. Since Xcaret packs so much in, the price is a bit steep... so I decided I'll save up and conquer it on my next trip!🙃
