Cancun Honeymoon Adventures: Coco Bongo Review #8
Coco Bongo Cancun is definitely worth a visit!
However, having a seat with a VIP ticket makes it infinitely better.
We highly recommend arriving early before the show starts!
Hey there, fellow travelers! It's your friend Bamkki.
If you're planning a honeymoon in Cancun, you're probably debating whether to hit up Coco Bongo, right?
And you're likely wondering whether to go for a standard ticket or splurge on VIP?
I'm here to share my personal experience, complete with photos,
and help you decide which ticket is right for you.
👇👇👇👇
1. Is Coco Bongo a Must-Do for Your Cancun Honeymoon?
For anyone researching a Cancun honeymoon, you've probably come across terms like Ik Kil Cenote, Xel-Há, Coco Bongo, and Pink Lake tours, and it can all get a bit confusing.
Coco Bongo is right in the Hotel Zone and is essentially Cancun's largest show venue and club.

It's more than just a typical club; there are continuous, high-energy performances,
so you're there to groove and enjoy the spectacular show.

And these aren't just small-scale acts; the shows are quite grand!
Performers fly through the air, it's truly something to behold. Haha!
The performances are primarily dance-focused, featuring band lip-syncs of popular songs,
action performances set to famous movie soundtracks, and much more.
It's a definite feast for the eyes!

During breaks between performances,
they'll often shine the spotlight on the audience, featuring people dancing up a storm,
kiss cams, and other fun interactive events.
To sum it up, unless you absolutely detest loud places and large crowds,
I'd recommend checking it out at least once.
But seriously, I strongly suggest you buy a VIP ticket!

Now, let's continue with Bamkki's full review!
2. Coco Bongo Cancun Location & Entry
📍 Coco Bongo Cancun
Blvd. Kukulcan 9.5, Punta Cancun, Zona Hotelera, 77500 Cancún, Q.R., Mexico
Coco Bongo Cancun is conveniently located in the Hotel Zone.
The Hotel Zone is pretty concentrated with accommodations,
so you can likely walk there from most hotels.
For example, it's about a 10-minute walk from the popular Hyatt Ziva Cancun,
and just a 5-minute walk from Aloft Cancun, where I stayed for a great value!

It proudly stands out as the biggest club around,
so you won't have any trouble finding it. Absolutely no chance of getting lost!

There's a separate bar outside, and the entrance, as shown in the right photo, is just inside.

At the ticket booth, you'll show your pre-booked voucher,
and they'll give you a wristband. Just wear that in!

Coco Bongo is situated on the second and third floors, so just head upstairs upon entry.
3. My Cancun Honeymoon Coco Bongo Review

As soon as we went up, there was a bar on the right, so we grabbed a margarita right away.
With your ticket, drinks are unlimited here!
There are also lovely staff members walking around offering drinks, but they expect tips,
so it's generally better to order directly from the bar. 😉

But... there were so many people. Seriously, so many people.
Of course, I went late, and it was on December 30th, during a very popular holiday season!

Even on the second floor, it was incredibly crowded,
though at least from there, we could somewhat see the stage.
However, the second floor is exclusively for VIP (Premium) guests,
so we were quickly ushered out after taking a photo, haha.
My husband and I had just finished a 12-hour Pink Lake tour, so we were already exhausted.
The sheer number of people drained our energy, so we only had 2-3 margaritas,
watched some of the show, and then headed back to our hotel.
We probably only stayed for about 2 hours, lol.
If you don't have a seat, it's really hard to enjoy the performances,
so I highly recommend going for the Gold ticket to enjoy
priority entry, reserved seating, and a dedicated bar.
🔊🔊Warning: It gets LOUD!🔊🔊
Before we left, my favorite Guns N' Roses song came on, so we enjoyed that for a bit before heading out.

4. Coco Bongo Cancun Ticket Booking & Prices
As I mentioned, Coco Bongo is worth visiting, but it gets incredibly crowded.
So, my top recommendations are:
1. Buy a Premium VIP ticket (includes seating + dedicated bar).
2. Arrive early before the show starts to secure a good spot.
I originally booked a package through At Home Trip, but we couldn't get a taxi reservation in advance and ended up losing money on a partial refund.
It's probably best to book directly and smoothly through Klook.
Prices vary between Regular and Premium (Gold) tickets, and also between weekdays and Fridays/Saturdays,
so make sure to check carefully before purchasing.
