Café'In Thao Dien Review: Best Salted Coffee in HCMC

A perfect little cafe date in Ho Chi Minh City!

My husband went with a classic iced Americano, while I had to try their famous salted coffee!

After a long, relaxing Sunday nap, we grabbed our laptops and tablets to head out, catch up on some personal projects, and get our afternoon caffeine fix.

We initially thought about taking the metro over to District 1, but then we realized there are still so many hidden gems right here in District 2 (Thao Dien) that we haven't explored yet. We decided to stick close to home and do a local cafe tour instead, which brought us to this cozy spot right next to Quan Bui Garden.

The Coffee Menu

Iced Americano: 55,000 VND (~$2)

Salted Coffee (Cà Phê Muối): 79,000 VND (~$3)

We ordered the signature CA PHE MUOI (Milk coffee with salted cream).

For dessert, we grabbed a slice of Banana Cake for 39,000 VND (~$1.50).

I was so focused on filming a video that I forgot to take a standalone photo of the banana cake, but let me tell you—this place is a low-key banana cake heaven. It’s not overly sweet, and the texture is incredibly moist and dense. I am 100% ordering this again on my next visit!

Since this spot is managed by the Quan Bui Garden group, three distinct brands—Quan Bui Garden, Sticky Rice, and Café'In—coexist beautifully in one shared, open space.

It all clicked for me! Last time we dined at Quan Bui Garden, they handed us two completely different menus and I was a bit confused. Now it makes sense: Quan Bui Garden serves traditional Vietnamese food, while Sticky Rice offers delicious Thai options.

The indoor area has plenty of comfortable seats, and the air conditioning is wonderfully strong—a lifesaver in the Saigon heat!

They also have casual camping chairs set up outdoors, offering plenty of seating options depending on your vibe.

One minor drawback: power outlets are quite hard to find.

Vietnamese cafes are typically famous for being digital nomad-friendly—even the smallest local coffee shops usually have outlets at every corner. However, Café'In is a bit different. Because of the lack of easily accessible outlets, you won't find a crowd of people glued to their laptops here, which actually makes it much more peaceful!

They proudly showcase the premium coffee beans they use. You can also grab self-serve filtered water at the counter.

Since they are connected, you can browse the full restaurant menus from the Quan Bui Garden group right from the cafe tables.

They offer a curated selection of cakes, muffins, and croissants. I originally wanted the cheesecake, but since it was sold out, I went with the banana cake—and it turned out to be the best decision ever!

The coffee bar is kept absolutely pristine and well-organized.

They also have a selection of Hydro Flask tumblers for sale. Every time I see these cute, high-quality tumblers, I get the strongest urge to start a collection!

Compared to other cafes in HCMC where salted coffee is often served in tiny cups, Café'In gives you a very generous portion! The coffee is rich and delicious, the AC is ice-cold, and the atmosphere is wonderfully serene. Since it's not packed with laptop workers due to the scarce outlets, it's the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and have a real conversation. Highly recommend trying their signature salted coffee and that incredible banana cake!
