Cafe Onhyu stands out as one of Buyeo's top Gungnamji cafes, conveniently located not far from several beautiful Hanok guesthouses.
It's the perfect spot to pop into before or after your sightseeing adventures.
The spacious parking lot right at the entrance made visiting by car incredibly convenient.
2. Cafe Onhyu: The Vibe (Exterior, Interior)
The Exterior

The building housing Cafe Onhyu is a beautifully renovated house, exuding a warm and inviting atmosphere.

It even boasts a charmingly decorated garden and lovely terrace seating, perfect for enjoying the outdoors.
I imagine visiting in the mild spring or autumn would make for an even more idyllic and leisurely experience.

The areas I've shown you so far are where guests relax and unwind,
the drink ordering counter, however, is located in a separate building right next door.
Being separate, I initially worried about spilling my drink on the way to my table,
but to my pleasant surprise, the staff brought the drinks directly to our table, making for a truly comfortable experience!

It also seems the owner has a soft spot for characters, as various figures are delightfully displayed throughout the space,
it was quite fun to look around and discover them while waiting for our drinks.
The Interior
Ground Floor

The interior was far more spacious than I had imagined,
and each table and chair was uniquely designed, which made exploring the space even more delightful.
The beautiful tablecloths and tasteful, atmospheric interior blended together perfectly,
making every seat look appealing. I spent a good while just soaking it all in!

There was also an attic-like space with tables for 1-2 people, perfect for enjoying a solo coffee session.
The walls were covered with beautiful handwritten Post-it notes left by previous customers,
adding a touching and atmospheric vibe, almost like a part of the decor itself.

On one side of the first floor, separated from the main hall, there were also large tables perfect for group gatherings.
In fact, when we visited, we saw people who looked like office workers
leaving after finishing a workshop.

The space next to the stairs leading up to the second-floor attic was also cozily decorated.
I even took a 'life shot' (a perfect photo) with a book, embracing the concept of reading.
Actually, the book in the photo wasn't a novel, but a Demon Slayer manga! 😊

You might be wondering, 'Where did that manga come from?' so I brought another photo to show you.
One corner of the cafe was stocked with a variety of books, including manga, novels, and essays,
making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some leisurely reading with a cool cup of coffee, even on a hot summer day.

There's also a restroom on the first floor, which makes it even more convenient for lingering comfortably for a longer time.
Second Floor Attic

The second floor featured a cozy attic structure with floor seating, allowing you to sit comfortably.
With an aesthetic full-length mirror and adorable little trinkets placed everywhere,
you could feel like a character straight out of a fairy tale.

Various items, including Ghibli figures that really showcase the owner's taste, were displayed throughout,
and just looking at each one made time fly by without even realizing it.
3. Cafe Onhyu Menu Introduction & Drink/Dessert Review

Cafe Onhyu, located near Gungnamji Pond, offered a truly diverse selection of drinks and desserts.
Signature menu items included the 'Onhyu Latte' topped with cheesecake cream, the 'Peanut Caramel Latte' with a peanut butter and caramel syrup base plus cream, and the 'Lotus Leaf Milk Tea', which captures the charm of Buyeo.
Onhyu Latte ~$4
Lotus Leaf Milk Tea ~$4
Iced Americano ~$3
Financier (Original) ~$2
Financier (Lemon) ~$2

Everything looked so delicious that after a long deliberation with my friend,
we decided to order two signature drinks and two types of perfectly golden-baked madeleines.

While waiting for our drinks, I looked out the window and saw the cafe's adorable cat.
Excited, I quickly headed outside to greet it.

I got permission from the owner and offered some Churu (cat treat).
Since it was still a young kitten, it was a bit wary of people and would quickly run away if I tried to touch it, but
it happily ate the Churu, which made me feel oddly proud.
Onhyu Latte

I was so curious about this, as it's a cafe latte topped with cheesecake cream –
the signature Onhyu Latte from Cafe Onhyu.
The subtle cheese foam and nutty latte blended harmoniously, making it easy to enjoy without feeling too heavy,
and I felt like anyone would enjoy it, regardless of their usual preferences.
Its sweet flavor felt like a much-needed sugar boost for my travel-weary body, making it even more satisfying.
Lotus Leaf Milk Tea

This is the Lotus Leaf Milk Tea my friend ordered.
The lotus leaf aroma wasn't as strong as I expected; instead, it was subtle and gentle,
blending beautifully with the milky richness for a smooth taste.
While my preference leaned a bit more towards the sweet Onhyu Latte,
my friend actually enjoyed the Lotus Leaf Milk Tea more, so I think satisfaction levels might vary depending on individual taste.
Financier

For financiers, we ordered two types: the classic financier and a lemon financier topped with a lemon slice.
The perfect sweetness and rich, buttery aroma blended wonderfully, making them an ideal pairing for coffee.
In fact, they were so good that we ended up ordering an extra iced Americano.
I didn't manage to snap a picture of the iced Americano, but to briefly describe its taste:
It had a clean taste, seemingly made with beans that weren't too acidic, which made it very easy to drink.
