Caesar Metro Taipei Review 2026: Pool, Rooms & Location
Looking for a budget-friendly 5-star stay in Taiwan? Read our 2026 review of Caesar Metro Taipei, featuring pool details, room tips, and transit hacks.
Highly Recommended Taipei Hotel
Caesar Metro Taipei

A 5-star hotel that boasts a swimming pool and an unbeatable location:
Caesar Metro Taipei.
Averaging around ~$77 per night, it offers incredible value for money.
While there were a few minor drawbacks, considering the amenities, location, and price point,
I was extremely satisfied overall and highly recommend it as a base for your Taiwan adventures.
Finding the Perfect Taipei Hotel
I'd read countless reviews about how intensely hot and humid Taiwan gets in the summer,
so I knew daytime sightseeing would be tough. I wanted a place where I could enjoy a "staycation" vibe during peak heat hours,
which made finding a hotel with a pool my top priority.
✔️ Must have a swimming pool
✔️ Excellent public transit access
(Preferably close to Ximending)
✔️ Around ~$77 per night

Checking all three of my major boxes was the

Just 1 MRT stop from Ximending
10-minute walk to Carrefour, Night Market, and Longshan Temple

If you're traveling to Taiwan in the summer, your hotel's location is absolutely critical.
It gets incredibly hot and sticky, making long walks miserable.
You definitely want a spot with seamless public transit access.
Not only was transit a breeze, but major attractions were practically on the doorstep.
The best part? Getting from Taoyuan Airport to the hotel
required absolutely zero outdoor walking! You stay in the glorious AC the whole way.
How to Get to Caesar Metro Taipei
1. Via MRT
Taipei Main Station → Transfer to BL Line
→ Get off at Longshan Temple Station → 5-minute walk from Exit 2
2. Via TRA (Local Train)
Taipei Main Station → Transfer to TRA
→ Get off at Wanhua Station → 1-minute walk (connected directly to the hotel)
While option 1 (MRT) might seem straightforward, that 5-minute walk in the heat didn't appeal to me.
I opted for option 2, taking the TRA directly to Wanhua Station since it's attached to the hotel building.

After exiting arrivals, head left.
Keep following the signs for the MRT.

Walk for about 3 to 4 minutes following the signs.
Once you reach an area that looks like the last photo, head inside.

If you purchased your EasyCard in advance, just show your voucher to pick it up.
If you're buying one on the spot, head further inside to the ticket machines or counters.
I like having everything sorted beforehand, so I bought mine online.
The pro is that it's super convenient; the con is you don't get to choose one of the cute, novelty card designs.
Booking Links
Taking the Airport MRT to Taipei Main Station:
Commuter Train (Blue) takes ~50 mins / Express Train (Purple) takes ~36 mins

After getting off at Taipei Main Station, look for the TRA signs and follow them.
It's just one stop to Wanhua Station → Take the right exit and you're at the hotel in 30 seconds.
Pro tip: When exiting Wanhua Station, I didn't realize there was an elevator and hauled my luggage up the stairs...
Learn from my mistake and definitely use the elevator!
I'd read some posts saying the TRA transfer could be confusing,
but honestly, as long as you follow the clear signage, it's a piece of cake.
I made it from the airport to the hotel lobby without breaking a single sweat.
Superior Double Room Review
I had requested a non-carpeted room in my booking notes because I'm not a fan of hotel carpets,
but perhaps because I checked in late, I was assigned a room with carpet anyway.
However, it wasn't the dusty, shaggy type I was dreading.
It was a very short, almost towel-like texture that felt perfectly fine and clean.

The room size is quite generous by Taipei standards. We had enough floor space
to fully open two large suitcases. There's also a designated luggage rack and hanging space
by the entrance, so the room never felt cramped during our 3-day stay.

The bathroom layout separates the shower room, toilet, and sink, which is super practical for couples.
Disposable amenities like toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, and cotton swabs are available at the front desk,
while bulk dispensers of hand soap, body lotion, shampoo, and body wash are in the room.
I didn't pack my own toiletries this trip, so I relied entirely on the hotel's offerings.
They had a pleasant scent and worked surprisingly well.

The room comes equipped with disposable slippers, mugs, tea bags, an electric kettle, a hair dryer, a TV,
a small table, and a sofa. You can also request a dehumidifier from the staff.
ABSOLUTELY request a dehumidifier!!!!
Taiwan's weather is notoriously humid, and the room felt a bit damp initially.
The moment we turned on the dehumidifier, the air became incredibly crisp and comfortable.
They have a limited supply, so ask for one as soon as you check in!

Taiwan uses 110V outlets, so bringing a travel adapter is essential, but the room is also equipped with multiple USB ports.
For multi-night stays, housekeeping will empty the trash and do a light tidy-up daily.
If you need extra towels, a quick call gets them delivered promptly.
Complimentary bottled water isn't provided in the room, but there's a water purifier located on the 26th floor.

Also, the view was far better than I expected!
We had a wide-open, sweeping view of the city skyline that added a great vibe to our stay.
The Swimming Pool
We put this to excellent use every single day of our 3-day trip:
The Caesar Metro Taipei Hotel Pool.

Operating Hours
7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Maintenance/Cleaning Breaks
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
While it's not a massive resort-style pool with infinity views,
it wasn't crowded at all, allowing us to swim and lounge in total peace.
(Crowd levels probably depend on the season you visit.)
It's completely free for hotel guests—just give your room number at the entrance.
Swim caps are strictly required (baseball caps are a no-go).
They also have an air pump available for pool floats.
Other Hotel Facilities:
3rd Floor: Chinese Restaurant
5th Floor: Breakfast Restaurant, Starbucks
8th Floor: Gym, Kids Playroom
26th Floor: Water Purifier, Ice Machine

Flash your room key at the nearby convenience store for a 10% discount!
I completely forgot about this and never used it,
but if you're reading this, don't miss out on those savings.
Despite being a massive hotel with hundreds of rooms,
they have four fast elevators, so we rarely had to wait.
Final Verdict on my 3-Night Stay at Caesar Metro Taipei
For around ~$77 a night, I would book this place again in a heartbeat.
Location, price, room condition, and amenities—
everything exceeded my expectations.
If you're hunting for a budget-friendly, well-located
Taipei hotel with a pool, this is the one!
