Today, I'm excited to share my honest review of the Caesar Metro Hotel Taipei, where my family and I stayed during our recent trip to Taipei, Taiwan.
Finding the right accommodation for a group of three, especially for a family trip, can be surprisingly challenging. After years of traveling together, my top tip is non-negotiable: everyone needs their own bed! Seriously, hotels often make it tricky for odd-numbered groups, so a little extra research is a must. Plus, balancing comfort with budget always adds to the decision-making.
After much deliberation, we landed on a hotel often recommended for groups of three in Taipei... the Caesar Metro Hotel Taipei. And if I had to sum it up? This hotel definitely has its clear pros and cons!

2) Caesar Metro Hotel Location: An Honest Review of Pros & Cons
To be completely upfront, let's start with the downsides:
Personally, I found the location a bit disappointing. Why? Well, there aren't many vibrant shops or entertainment options nearby that cater to international tourists, especially after dark. We stepped out on our first night and thought, "Hmm, is this all there is?"
If you're the type who prefers quiet nights in, it might be perfect. But I love exploring bustling streets and night markets, so I definitely felt a bit limited.
However, there are definite perks to this location too!
✔ The hotel itself is incredibly quiet.
✔ The surrounding area isn't chaotic or overly busy.
👉 My parents, in particular, really appreciated this peaceful atmosphere.
BUT
If we had stayed closer to Ximending, I feel like we could have explored more freely. Next time, I'm definitely booking in Ximending!
3) Is Caesar Metro Hotel a Good Choice for a 3-Person Family Trip to Taipei?
✔ For 3-Person Stays
The room itself was definitely adequate for a family trip.
Especially when traveling with parents, overly cramped accommodations can be exhausting. Here, the overall spaciousness was a huge plus.
I booked the first room option that appeared for "3 people" in my search, and this is the room we were assigned. (Keep in mind there might be other layouts, so if you prefer this specific room, mention it at check-in).
With three comfortable single beds, we all slept soundly!
The TV also had Netflix connectivity, so we could just log in with our own accounts and enjoy our favorite shows.
Even the standard rooms at Caesar Metro Hotel Taipei come with a bathtub!
The bathroom was clean, and I appreciated the separate shower and toilet areas.
4) Amenities: An Honest Review
I knew the hotel had a pool and fitness center, so I checked them out. The fitness center basically consists of a few cardio machines – that's it. There are a couple of dumbbells, but honestly, don't set your expectations high.
The pool is also quite small and doesn't offer anything particularly special.
The takeaway:
This is NOT a hotel to book if you're looking for impressive amenities.
5) Final Verdict
What truly stood out as a major plus? The view! The Caesar Metro Hotel boasts some truly spectacular views.
Having such a great view from our room significantly boosted our satisfaction, both in the mornings and as we wound down each day.
The night view, in particular, was absolutely stunning! Overall, this hotel feels more geared towards relaxation and unwinding than active sightseeing.
If you're searching for a Taipei hotel for three people, Caesar Metro Hotel might be perfect for you if:
✔ You're on a family trip with parents or older relatives.
✔ You prefer a quiet, peaceful accommodation.
✔ You plan to primarily use taxis or ride-shares for transportation.
❌ Not Recommended If:
✔ You want to walk to Ximending or night markets.
✔ You enjoy exploring lively areas late into the night.

A 3-night stay for 3 people, excluding breakfast, cost approximately ~$269, which comes out to about ~$90 per night. Considering Taipei's prices, it is rated as a hotel with excellent value for money.
The hotel is located near Longshan Temple and is a bit far from Ximending. A disadvantage is the lack of commercial areas suitable for Koreans, meaning limited evening entertainment. On the other hand, the hotel itself is very quiet, and the surrounding area is not bustling, which is an advantage.
The room for a family of three provided three single beds, allowing for a comfortable sleep. Overall, there was ample space, including an area for late-night snacks, and even the standard rooms were equipped with bathtubs.
The fitness facilities primarily consist of cardio equipment with only a few dumbbells, so it's best not to have high expectations. The swimming pool is also small and doesn't offer a special experience, so it's not a hotel to visit specifically for its amenities.
