For my most recent trip to Ho Chi Minh City, I decided to book a place near the famous Walking Street. Honestly, it was more of a quick stopover before heading to Phu Quoc, so I just wanted something central and lively. I had no idea just how central it would be!
I remember taking a Grab from the airport to my Ho Chi Minh City hotel, thinking, "Why are we going this way? It's so jammed!" (Though with Grab, the fare is fixed, so it wasn't a big deal). Then, the car stopped right at the entrance of Bui Vien.
I initially thought the traffic was so bad that I'd have to walk the rest of the way, but then I realized – we had arrived!

It's truly right on the doorstep – literally. You can almost see the entrance to the Walking Street from the lobby! I knew it was a District 1 hotel in Ho Chi Minh, but I never expected it to be this close.
Rooms, Bathrooms, and Restrooms

The room condition was perfectly fine. I booked this as a budget-friendly option in Ho Chi Minh, and the photos on Agoda looked decent. In reality, it wasn't far off. I admit, the building and ground floor lobby had a very strong local vibe, which made me a little worried at first, but it turned out to be quite alright.

Inside the room, there was a small table, a TV (though I didn't really watch it), a safe, and plenty of space to spread out my suitcase. The toilet and shower were conveniently separated.

The sink was located outside the shower/toilet area, and basic amenities were provided. There wasn't a separate bathtub, but the toilet and shower were in distinct, separate spaces next to the bed.
Other Considerations
As a budget-friendly hotel in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1, C Central Hotel doesn't offer amenities like a swimming pool, gym, or breakfast. It's essentially a place to rest your head. However, its location is truly unbeatable. Just be aware that because it's so close to the action, the street music at night can definitely be heard from the room. I'm a late sleeper and not particularly sensitive to noise, so it didn't bother me. But if you're someone who needs quiet to sleep, it's definitely something to consider before booking.

Google Maps lists check-in at 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM, but I confirmed with the staff that check-out is actually 12:00 PM. The sign in the room also said 11:00 AM, so it was good to double-check! I arrived late in the afternoon, so I couldn't confirm if an earlier check-in before 3:00 PM is possible, but given it's not a massive, bustling resort, they might be flexible. Overall, C Central Hotel is a solid recommendation for a quick overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh, especially if you want to be right in the heart of the action.
