Getting to BUSAN X the SKY

It feels like it’s been forever since I last visited Haeundae!
And it was actually my very first time stepping inside the famous LCT tower.

It's located right at the edge of Haeundae beach, almost towards Mipo.
The observatory is perched way up at the very top of the LCT Tower.

BUSAN X the SKY spans floors 98 to 100,
and it actually houses the highest Starbucks in the world!
If you're driving, you get 2 hours of free parking
when you visit the observatory,
so feel free to bring your car along!

Right at the entrance, there’s a super cute photo zone
where you can snap pictures with adorable characters.
Apparently, they’re characters from the game Ragnarok!
Luggage Lockers

They have self-service lockers here, so even if you have heavy bags,
you can store them and explore light and easy!

Near the entrance, you can also use the self-service kiosks
to print online tickets or redeem memberships.
How to Pre-book Tickets & Get Discounts

While you can buy tickets right at the ticket booth,
we wanted to keep things budget-friendly,
so we looked for a smarter booking method!
Busan Travel Commando - [Ticket] BUSAN X the SKY
The regular admission price is ~$17, but
being the ultimate planner ("Power J") that I am, I booked in advance and managed to get a whopping 20% discount...
I booked my tickets through Busan Travel Commando!
Plus, you can buy and use them on the very same day,
which makes it super convenient!
And if you end up not using the tickets, you can get a full refund,
which felt incredibly reassuring and fair.

You get a booking confirmation notification right on your phone,
so all you have to do is show it at the ticket counter.
It’s honestly the easiest way to do it—highly recommended! :-)

They have brochures available in several languages,
and I grabbed the Korean version.
Since I visited during the day, I missed it, but at night they have cool attractions like the Sky Wave
and the Sky X Show!

After getting your physical ticket, you can do a quick self-check-in to enter.
Entering the Observatory & Riding the Elevator

Just follow the signs pointing towards the observatory entrance and head inside.

You can snap a souvenir photo right around here,
and then purchase it in a nice frame once you reach the 100th floor!

After going through a quick security check, you'll wait by the elevator,
where the friendly staff will guide you inside.

The elevator ride up takes nearly a full minute,
and a staff member rides along with you to guide the way.

To keep things exciting on the way up,
the elevator walls project an awesome video
showcasing Haeundae's most iconic landmarks.
I was seriously impressed by how much detail and effort went into the experience!

Since the elevator shoots up at a speed of 3 floors per second,
it was honestly so much fun just watching the floor numbers fly by!
The 100th Floor

Once you arrive on the 100th floor and follow the arrows,
you'll finally reach the observation deck!

You can purchase the photo you took on the 1st floor
right here.

As soon as you step in, you're treated to a stunning view of
Haeundae Beach, Marine City, and the Gwangandaegyo Bridge!
Even though it was a bit cloudy that day, luckily the view was still quite clear.

If you look straight down, you can see a neat line of
cute, colorful beach umbrellas.
The waves rolling onto the beach were also an absolute spectacle.
I've seen Haeundae Beach countless times, but looking down at it
from this high up was a whole new, fascinating experience!

Next, I walked over to the windows facing the other side.

Unfortunately, because of the cloudy weather, I couldn't see where the ocean meets the horizon.
If it had been a clear day, we probably could have spotted some distant islands, right?

After soaking in the views, I headed down to the 99th floor.

On the way, you'll cross a glass-bottomed bridge
where you can look straight down through the floor!
Walking across it didn't scare me too much, but when heavier groups of people
walked right down the center, it felt like there was a slight
dipping sensation under the weight.
I actually saw quite a few people who were
too scared to cross!

Still, it's a super fun experience!
The 99th Floor

The 99th floor features a restaurant and a sky garden.
There's also a Starbucks here, but it's a little different from your average one.

Dining while gazing out at this view...
just thinking about it is so romantic!

From this angle, you can see the Dalmaji-gil area.
The tightly clustered villas almost give off a Porto, Portugal vibe,
which is incredibly charming.

This is the Sky Garden—the perfect spot
to snap a photo to prove you were here!
98th Floor

We headed up to our final stop, the 98th floor!
This level is mostly filled with treats and fun things to do.

And the souvenir shop is located right here as well!

There are so many cute items here, and since we made the trip,
we decided to buy a magnet as a souvenir.
Honestly, I was so tempted by the pen holder shown at the end.
The quality is actually really great, so it's definitely worth picking up!

They also have a fun activity called the "Sky Mailbox."
If you buy a postcard and a stamp, then drop it in,
it will be delivered to you in about 1 to 2 weeks!

Incredibly, they even offer international shipping,
so I think global travelers would really love this.

Lastly, there was a digital board where you can leave a "Message on the Clouds,"
and I just knew I had to try it!

After a quick agreement and typing in my message,
it was so cool to see what I wrote displayed in giant letters on the screen!
This would be perfect if you're visiting on an anniversary.

Busan X the SKY Starbucks

You can find the Starbucks tucked away at the back of the 98th floor.
(I'll write a separate post all about that Starbucks! :-)

We wrapped up our amazing visit after grabbing a refreshing drink!
