If you're exploring Haeundae, Busan, let me introduce you to a must-visit spot: Mipo's culinary gem.
It's located near Signiel Hotel and the Mipo Station of Haeundae Blueline Park Beach Train, making it incredibly popular with international tourists.
Not only has Fan Bingbing visited, but many other celebrities have also dined here. I'm excited to share my honest review of this specialty seafood jang restaurant, boasting a tradition of nearly 50 years since 1976.
If you're visiting Busan, this place comes with my absolute highest recommendation!
It's renowned for aging its marinated seafood using a 40-year-old traditional 'Fruit Enzyme Berry Soy Sauce',
This enzyme, made by fermenting various fruits, is said to enhance both the umami and healthy sweetness of the food.

Mipojib's most iconic and recommended dish is none other than
the Beauty Seafood Jang Set, featuring fresh seafood marinated in a secret 40-year-old special soy sauce.
Hot Pot Rice Options: Eel Hot Pot Rice, Bulgogi & Octopus Hot Pot Rice, Scallop Hot Pot Rice, Galbi Hot Pot Rice, Abalone Hot Pot Rice, Octopus Hot Pot Rice, Shrimp & Octopus Cream Hot Pot Rice
They also offer Spicy Marinated Crab (Yangnyeom Gejang) and a Tasting Seafood Jang, so if you visit with a group, it would be wonderful to order a variety of dishes to share.
They even had menus available in various languages for international guests!
Guide to the 12 Basic Side Dishes
A total of 12 side dishes are served.
Initially, appetizers like deep-fried shiitake mushrooms (pyogo tangsu), sweet pumpkin, lotus root and broccoli salad, and a fresh salad were brought out.
And the side dishes served with the meal were refillable anytime!
Beauty Seafood Jang Set (for 2 people)
The Beauty Seafood Jang Set is served for two people,
and it featured a total of 8 kinds of seafood.
It was generously packed with a total of 8 kinds of marinated seafood, including female crab, male blue crab, abalone, octopus, shrimp, salmon, shrimp, scallop, and abalone.
It looked incredibly generous at first glance,
and I could see why so many international tourists flock here, thanks to its stunning presentation and amazing taste.
We did an 'open run' at the Haeundae branch, and within less than 30 minutes, the hall was completely full, seemingly with all international visitors.
They recommended mixing egg yolk, vegetables, and sesame seeds to dip the seafood, and it truly enhanced the savory flavor even more!
And just like that, a table full of delights was set before us.
The Beauty Seafood Jang set meal comes with two stone pot rice dishes.
And white rice with marinated crab (*gejang*)? That's the golden rule!
Seaweed soup is served alongside it.
After scooping out the white rice and preparing to make *soongnyung* (scorched rice tea), it was time to dive into the Beauty Seafood Jang!
Shall we start with the marinated crab (*gejang*), a staple of any seafood *jang* dish?
This place truly lives up to its reputation as a *matjip* (a must-try restaurant) in Mipo, Busan!
The blue crabs are absolutely bursting with meat; just looking at them makes your stomach happy!
Imagine how wonderful it must be for global travelers to come to Haeundae and savor such a magnificent Korean feast!
We also added another kind of stone pot rice to our order.
The Bulnak Stone Pot Rice was another incredibly popular choice. After mixing it all up and taking a generous spoonful, I instantly understood why everyone raves about this place as a true *matjip*!
When you layer rice on a sheet of crispy seaweed and top it with marinated crab (*gejang*), it's like a burst of the ocean right in your mouth!
Honestly, you might assume anything marinated in soy sauce would be overly salty, right?
But the expertise of a 50-year-old *matjip*? That's a flavor you can trust!
They craft the Beauty Seafood Jang with a special fruit soy sauce, infused with fruit enzymes, resulting in a flavor that's neither too salty nor too sweet — just perfectly, wonderfully delicious!
And every single piece of seafood? Absolutely plump and bursting with flavor!
I mixed rice into the rich crab roe and savored every bite.
And of course, we couldn't just skip the *soongnyung* at the end!
Topping it with marinated scallops (*garibijang*) made it truly exceptional.

The Beauty Seafood Jang is always a set meal for two people.
If you're dining as a pair, simply order the Beauty Seafood Jang (2-person set).
For parties of three or more, we recommend ordering the Beauty Seafood Jang (2-person set) and adding another stone pot rice dish with a different flavor.
We noticed other tables ordering this way, and the staff actually recommended this method themselves!

Inside the Restaurant
I really couldn't get any good photos of the restaurant's interior.
As you enter, there's a long hall extending both straight ahead and to the left, but both sections were absolutely packed! I couldn't capture the full view, so I had to mosaic everything out of necessity.
